Just Think Outside ...the place for creativity |

| Greetings! |
I'm presenting a program this week at a camera club.
While preparing for the program I asked myself what the one thing would be that I want them to take away from the program. There are shutter, aperture, and ISO settings, using leading lines to draw your eye into the image, point of focus etc.
All of these elements are important in the creation of a fine art image. However, what I want them to take away from the program is the importance of being there.
In photography to experience something special you first have to be there. Half the work in fine art photography is being there at the right time and place.
Take care, Jeffrey

| Being There |
On days I'm photographing I often leave the house 2-3 hours before dawn, hike several miles to the spot I've chosen, and then hope the weather forecast holds true and there is sun and clouds and not wind and rain.
It is worth the effort to be there even if the weather doesn't cooperate and not a single photograph is made. Without effort there can be no reward.
When the weather does cooperate I have the opportunity to experience the beauty of dawn over a mountain lake, wildflowers shrouded in the early morning mist, or the landscape glowing with the golden light of the rising sun.

| Testimonial |
blowfish emporium is a gallery in downtown Bristol VA. We feature many local and regional artists but there is one artist, Jeffrey Stoner, who stands out by offering something consistently amazing and breathtaking. Jeffrey is a photographer who seems to capture more than just an image in his work.
His work represents shots from many local and regional areas of Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia. The most common response from those viewing his pieces is that you feel like you can actually step into the picture. His presentation is both professional and flawless.
Many locals, and even those visiting, love this area because of the beautiful landscapes and mountains. Well, Jeffrey has captured that beauty in his photographs which allow us to appreciate it from anywhere we hang his work!
