Teacher Appreciation Car Wash Monday
| Teacher Appreciation Car Wash
Hosted by the 6th Graders - Fox Mill Parking Lot
Monday, May 21 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m.
To show how thankful they to the teachers for everything they have done, the 6th graders will work together (with the help of their parents) to wash and clean Fox Mill teachers cars inside and out as they line up in the parking lot.

Box Tops Due May 31
|  ARE YOU CRAZY FOR ICE CREAM! The PTA will be awarding THREE ice cream parties to the classes collecting the most Box Tops coupons during the month of May. One party will be held for a class from grades K-2, one from grades 3-4 and one from grades 5-6. Books for Book Swap This Week
|  The Book Swap will be held on Friday, June 1. This is a great opportunity to get some 'new' books for the summer. Students may start to bring in books on Tuesday, May 22. There will be Book Swap Bins located in the pit of each BEA for students to drop their books. Students may donate AS MANY books as they would like. Students will be able to choose a MAXIMUM of 3 BOOKS no matter how many they donate. EVERYONE will be able to choose AT LEAST one book even if they didn't bring any in. |

6th Grade Super Blast June 1
|  Attention Fox Mill Class of 2012: Come enjoy music, food, games, and more with your sixth grade friends on Friday, June 1 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Fox Mill.

Prepackaged School Supply Sale
|  The school's prepackaged school supply sale will occur in June. This is an opportunity for parents to preorder their child's school supplies for the 2012-2013 school year. All packs will be delivered to the school and are available for pickup at the Open House.
Order forms will be available in Fox Prints and on the PTA website and will be sent home in early June.

Virginia Readers' Choice

Many students have enjoyed reading Virginia Readers' Choice books this year, and the voting results are in! Students who read and summarized at least four VRC books attended a voting party in the library, where they celebrated and voted for their favorite VRC book. Here are the Fox Mill and Virginia state results:
Primary/Grades K-3:
Fox Mill winner: The Big Elephant in the Room by Lane Smith
Virginia winner: We Are in a Book by Mo Willems
Elementary/Grades 3-5:
Fox Mill winner: 11 Birthdays by Wendy Mass
Virginia winner: All the Lovely Bad Ones by Mary Downing Hahn
Middle/Grades 6-8:

Summer Reading

As parents, we all know the importance of keeping our student(s) reading during the long hazy days of summer. This year the PTA is starting its' own, unofficial, reading list. The goal is to help you find just the right book for your child to pack in the pool bag, to take to camp, or to curl up with on the couch.
We will publish this list on the PTA website, but first we are looking for input - from you, from your students, from your friends, from your child's friends or from anyone connected with the Fox Mill community.
All we need is the book title, the author, and recommended grade level. If you want to add some comments about the book as well, please include them too

Running with the Stars
| Fox Mill's boys running program ending the  season yesterday with the Running with the Stars 5K race in Ashburn, VA. All the boys ran with a buddy runner, were well prepared for the run, and finished the race. We are so proud of you!
