Fox Prints April 23
Dear Fox Mill Parents and Guardians,
Thank you to all the scouts and families who helped to spruce up our landscaping. The flowerbeds look beautiful! Also, thank you to Shannon Smith and Karen Duggan for taking the time to transplant some of their greenery to the school. Please remember plant orders are due today if you need flowers to start your own landscaping projects!
Congratulations to ALL three Fox Mill Basketball teams for their wins against Forest Edge! Thank you to all the 6th grade families who volunteered their time to make this night happen!
Sincerely,
Lorraine Mietlicki
PTA President

Kindergarten Orientation/Registration
for the 2012 - 2013 School Year
Fox Mill Elementary School will hold an orientation/registration meeting for parents of incoming kindergarten students on Monday, April 23, at 1:30 p.m. in the school cafeteria. Children must be five years old by September 30, 2012 to attend this fall's kindergarten.
We are sure you have many questions about the kindergarten year and your child's enrollment. We will try to answer all of your questions at our orientation meeting in April. We look forward to seeing you there. This meeting is for parents only.
Please return a "Survey of Preschool Children" by Friday, March 30, 2012. Click here to open the form or it can be picked up in the school office.
Upon receipt of your completed survey, the school office will then forward the necessary school registration paperwork to you before the April 23 meeting. While we hope to handle most registrations at the orientation, you may register your new student at any time. However, it is recommended that you please call ahead to 703-262-2700 to make sure our registrar, Barbara Mehm, is in.

Parent Workshop on April 24
| Is your child smart but struggling? Find out why and unlock their potential. If your child is struggling in school, get to the root cause -- their ability to focus, think and learn. Learn about the cognitive skills that are used in learning and how you can strengthen the key parts of the brain that students need to learn and read better.
Please join Maureen Loftus, Executive Director from LearningRx on April 24 at 9:00 a.m. for coffee to learn more. |

Laptop Donations Needed
| Many of Fox Mill's laptops are coming close to retirement age. If you work for a business, or know someone who is working for a business, that is upgrading its laptops, please consider donating them to the school. The school uses Windows-based machines and Dell computers primarily. FCPS guidelines require that donations be enough for a classroom set, so 20-30 laptops should be donated at the same time. If you have any questions, e-mail Audrey Kirtland, Fox Mill's Technology Specialist, at aakirtland@fcps.edu. |
