SCA Holiday Food Collection Ends Tomorrow
|
The SCA is assisting LINK again by collecting food for their annual Holiday Food Basket Program. All food donations should be placed in the boxes in each BEA by Dec. 6.

Father-Daughter Dance Meeting Tomorrow
|
 A short planning meeting for the Father-Daughter Dance will be held Tuesday, Dec. 6 from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. in the cafeteria.
Fox Mill ES will be hosting its second annual Father-Daughter Dance on Friday, Jan. 6, 2012 from 7 p.m to 9 p.m. All daughters (kindergartners through 6th graders) are welcome with their dads or uncles or grandpas to spend an "Evening Under The Sea" as we dance to some great DJ music and enjoy refreshments and fun! Tickets are $25 per family and $30 at the door.

Yoga for Kids Starts Jan. 18, Enroll Now
|  The PTA is offering Yoga for Kids, a new after school activity. Students will explore yoga poses, cooperative games, breathing and relaxation exercises and convey lessons in self-expression, body-awareness, and social skills. Non-competitive and fun, students develop strength, flexibility, concentration, and confidence. It is an 8-week session of Kids Yoga, open to both boys and girls in grades K-6 with instructors from Beloved Yoga (www.belovedyoga.com).
Classes start on Thursday, Jan. 12 from 3:30 p.m. to 4:25 p.m. in the cafeteria. Sports Spectacular Starts in Jan., Enroll Now

Coming to Fox Mill this winter .... Sports Spectacular!
 This January the PTA will launch Sports Spectacular, a before school 8-week athletics program. It's hard for our students to get outside and play during the cold winter months, so why not bring the fun inside? Each week Overtime Athletics will bring a different sport or game to the gym. Students will work on teamwork, sportsmanship, and fitness. Click here or see foxmillschoolpta.com/programs/sports-spectacular for more information.
Grades K-3 will meet on Tuesdays, starting 1/17. Classes will start at 7:15 a.m. and end at 8:15 a.m.; cost $80.
Grades 4-6 will meet on Thursdays, starting 1/19. Classes will start at 7:15 a.m. and end at 8:15 a.m.; cost $80.

Mad Science Starts Feb. 7, Enroll Now
|  Online enrollment is now open for the popular Mad Science program!
"Sensational Science" will run on Tuesdays from 3:30 p.m to 4:30 p.m. (Students
go directly to the school cafeteria from their classroom.) There will be 8
sessions starting Feb. 7 and ending April 10 (there are no sessions during spring break).
Space is limited but all grades may enroll and your child does not need to attend Fox Mill ES in order to enroll. The cost is $104 per student and the
deadline to register is Jan. 25 or until the classes are full.

Boosterthon Completed

Boosterthon Fun Run Fundraiser Completed!!
The final collection for the Boosterthon Fun Run Fundraiser was completed on Dec. 1. The school raised over $32,000 with 80% of the students participating. Thank you Fox Mill for all your support, enthusiasm, and hard work in achieving our PTA fundraising goal for this year.
In the past, the PTA's fundraising efforts continued until March. This year, the PTA can shift its focus from fundraising to enriching the school community.
Since the school reached it goal, the following can happen:
1. Over $15,000 of the Boosterthon money will be used to supplement the Field Trip program. For K-3, each grade will receive approximately $1,450 in PTA support for their field trips. Grades 4-6 will receive $3,300 for their trips. Grades 4-6 receive a higher subsidy because their field trips are much more costly than the lower grades. This program has been in effect for a number of years at Fox Mill, and we are grateful to be able to help all our Fox Mill families with this expense again this year.
2. The PTA was able to put Assembly programs back into the budget. Last year assemblies were eliminated due to lack of funds. The kids have already had a chance to enjoy a Magic Show and will be able to enjoy at least 3 more quality assemblies by the end of the school year. We were even able to offer a parent assembly for the first time in many years!
3. Family Fun Night is changing! We do not need an additional major fundraiser for the school, and so the Fox Mill Family Festival will be launched this March. This should be a fun night for both kids and parent. Please look for more details in the January Fox Prints.
