Message from the Principals
Dear Parents,
We enjoyed having so many family members join us for our Thanksgiving luncheon. On Nov. 17, our cafeteria staff and volunteers served close to 800 meals to students and their guests. We were delighted that so many family members took time out of their busy schedules to join us for lunch. We want to thank all those who helped make the celebration such a success:
- Mrs. Sue Lefave and Mrs. Melanie Emerick coordinated the lunch reservations and volunteers
- Ms. Welles' art classes, kindergarten and first grade classes for the festive decorations
- The cafeteria staff who coordinated the serving of almost 800 meals
- Mr. Moose for his schedule and cafeteria assistance
- Mr. Puller, Mrs. Siles, Mrs. Jones, and Mrs. Larrick for their support during the lunch
- SCA officers and reps who helped serve beverages
- Our parent volunteers who assisted with so many luncheon responsibilities
We could not have had this event without such a wonderful team effort!
Congratulations to our "Girls on the Run" who participated in the 5K in Bristow, VA on Sunday, Nov. 20. We are so proud of their accomplishments! We thank Ms. Roberts, Ms. Kim, Ms. Olinger, Mrs. Lyon, Maxstadt-sensei, and Mrs. Tuller-Brooke, our staff coaches, who have coached the girls after school hours this fall.
Please remember that on Wednesday, Nov. 23, students in Fairfax County Public Schools will have an early dismissal due to the start of the Thanksgiving holiday. The following schedule applies to those students attending our school:
Grades K-6 8:40 a.m. to 1:20 p.m.
SACC will remain open until the regular closing time of 6:15 p.m.
The Thanksgiving holiday is truly a special time of the year. Each of us looks forward to the many traditions that the holiday brings. We hope that you will find time to rest, relax, and enjoy the blessings of family and friends. On behalf of the entire faculty and staff at Fox Mill ES, we wish you and your family a happy and healthy holiday.
Sincerely,
Pat Sheehy Brian Moose

Message from the PTA President
Dear Parents and Guardians,
We're very excited as we head into the holiday season knowing that because of the Boosterthon Fundraiser, Fox Mill has reached its fundraising goals for the year. The Boosterthon Fun Run raised $32,500 for the PTA. In the past, with our three main fundraisers (Sally Foster, Entertainment Books, and Family Fun Night) it would take us until March to achieve our PTA fundraising goal of $30,000. Since we have exceeded our $30,000 goal, a portion of the funds raised from the Boosterthon will go directly back to the teachers for classroom use. Thank you to all of our families for your support of this program and for helping to make fundraising simple for the school this year.
With that said, we've started planning for the Fox Mill Family Festival (the new and improved Family Fun Night). The planning for this really fun night has already begun. Fox Mill Family Festival will be more fun and less work for our families! Tina Anderson has offered to chair this event. Stay tuned for more information about this new event in January editions of Fox Prints.
It was great to see so many parents join us to celebrate Thanksgiving last week. Thank you to Sue Lefave and Melanie Emerick for hosting this special day for our families. We hope to see you Dec. 3 for our annual Craft Show and Secret Shop. This is a great opportunity for all members of the family to get some shopping done!
The PTA wishes all of our families a safe and happy Thanksgiving!
Sincerely,
Lorraine Mietlicki
PTA President
