~Snacks Snacks Snacks~

If you are an athlete or someone who stays active and works out daily, your body requires more than just three meals per day. Healthy snacks help you sustain your energy throughout the day and replace losses after a hard workout. Athletes especially need the extra calories and nutrition to support training. When choosing snacks, select those that meet your nutritional needs and that provide nutrients lacking in your diet. Click here for a list of homemade snack suggestions for athletes and active people.

Also, here's a list of suggestions for snack foods that are portable and will most likely be available at a local grocery store (at least within the U.S.

GREETINGS!

We just found out that Santana Row has a farmer's market on Sundays! Not a big one, but nonetheless, plenty of local fruits and veggies along with the best outdoor shopping and eating you can find in the area. It is right next to The Counter.

If you haven't been to Santana Row, I highly recommend it. Amazing restaurants and great shopping, most of which have outdoor seating and a great vibe with a European feel.

My New Booklet - Universal Laws of Optimum Health

Here is a sneak peak at my next booklet to be published soon! I am finishing up two more laws that are not listed here...so stay tuned for the published work with bonus material. I hope it will make your Christmas list as something to give =).

These laws are so powerful and always at work, whether we believe in them or not. So, if you believe that we are all connected and that the universe works in "mysterious" ways, then these are perfect for you to take advantage of. These laws can be used to benefit us, so we might as well learn how to get the most from them.

Use these laws every day, especially when you need to be reminded of their powers; notice after each one there is a "use this law" section.

RECIPE OF THE MONTH

Banana Bread

Banana Bread

Not to be biased or anything, but this banana bread is by far the best banana bread I have tasted. And it's not because our 10 year old made it either.

We replaced the canola oil that the recipe called for with coconut oil and used up those over ripe bananas that we almost tossed.

This bread is soo good, we've made it twice (um, make that three times!) within the last couple of weeks.

Ingredients:

  • 1 2/3 c flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda
  • 3 medium, very ripe bananas
  • 2/3 c sugar
  • 1/3 c coconut oil
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 T coconut oil1/4 tsp salt or to taste

Directions:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Grease and lightly flour a one pound loaf pan.
  • Combine together the flour, baking powder, salt and baking soda.
  • In a separate large mixing bowl, mash the bananas.
  • Add the sugar, coconut oil, eggs and vanilla to the bananas and mix together well.
  • Add the dry ingredients to the banana mixture and beat until well blended.
  • Bake for 45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.

THANK YOU for making my job my PASSION!

Sincerely,
