Great for ALL blood types!
 
Remove stems from 6 small portabella stuffing mushrooms. Saute garlic, baby spinach and chopped mushroom stems in olive oil. Fill each mushroom with the spinach mixture. Top with goat cheese crumbles and bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes.

For those who know me well, you know I like to balance life as much as I can. You also know that I LOVE to eat meat, drink coffee and bbq with a beer in my hand.
 
So, how the heck do I balance that lifestyle?
 
Seasonal cleansing is the secret. This means that I do 4 main cleanses per year, one with each season.
 
It is actually the natural way we used to live. Think about it. Before we had supermarkets, we simply ate what was in season. So taking this premise, one can keep in tune with nature by welcoming in each season by sticking to a diet that is void of processed foods and filled with all the fruits, veggies and other foods in season.

How to get SUPER POWERS for the Cold Season
Okay, so we know that our immune system is the key to fighting off illnesses, but what are the two most important immune factors in fighting off colds and flus?
 
1) Keep your INSIDES clean by feeding the blood antioxidants which maintain cellular health and fight the main source of disease, free radicals, at their root, the blood.
 
You can do this by eating foods that are high in antioxidants, and/or you can use natural products that have them as ingredients.
Except for the occasional fresh fruit in season, I like to use a product called NingXia Red for everyday use, mainly because of this;

2) Fight disease from the OUTSIDE in so it can't even get into your body!
 
Do this by washing your hands a lot, staying away from sick people, cleaning things often, etc. On top of that there is another way; kill the bacteria and air-born viruses in the air. 
My favorite way to do this is with Thieves oil.

They explained that they were perfumers and spice traders and told of a special concoction of aromatic herbs, including cloves and rosemary, that they rubbed on their hands, ears, and temples.
The proprietary Thieves oil blend was created based on research into the concoction used by the thieves of the 15th century. In 1997, studies conducted at Weber State University showed it to have a 99.96% success rate against airborne bacteria.
 
My favorite ways to use Thieves oil are;
1) 1-3 drops in warm rice milk during the cold season or when I feel like I'm coming down with something
2) Diffusing it in the air with a diffuser (if you come to my office you know the smell, it has a clove and cinnamon aroma). I use it everyday, it is great for when people are coughing and sneezing all around you.
3) I clean my floors, walls, etc. with it using their household cleaner product.

Or if I knew of better products I would be writing about them, but these are BY FAR the best natural products I have ever used, and because of them I do not need "medicine". Sweet Potato Pie

 

Whip up some sweet potato pie for your next "cheat meal"!

 

I can guarantee this will be a hit-it tastes just like pumpkin pie. And although this has butter (which by the way is acceptable for blood type O's and B's), it is still semi-healthy because of the sweet potatoes (sweet potatoes are also on the highly beneficial list for O's and B's!).  

 

Ingredients (filling):

 

·         1 lb sweet potatoes (about 5-6 small potatoes)

·         ½ cup butter (one stick), room temperature

·         ½ cup sugar

·         ½ cup almond milk

·         2 eggs

·         ¾ tsp nutmeg

·         ¾ tsp cinnamon

·         1 tsp vanilla

 

Ingredients (Crust):

 

·         12 organic cinnamon graham crackers (full sheets)

·         ¼ cup butter, melted (1/2 stick)

 

Directions for the Crust:

 

In a food processor, finely crush the graham crackers. Add the melted butter and mix until butter is incorporated into the crackers. Press the graham cracker mixture into a pie pan.

 

Directions for the filling:

 

1)       Bake the sweet potatoes (with skins on) at 350 degrees for about one hour or until soft.

2)       When potatoes have cooled down a bit so you can handle them, remove the skins.

3)       In a large bowl, mix together well the potatoes and the butter.  Stir in the sugar, milk, eggs and spices. Beat until mixture is smooth. Pour the mixture over your unbaked pie crust.

4)       Bake at 350 degrees for about 50-55 minutes, or until knife in center comes out clean.

 

Serve warm with a dollop of whipped cream and a dash of cinnamon.
