| More Than 5,000 Cleanup Beaches in 2009! |
|
Thank you Beach Cleanup Volunteers!
Huntington/ Seal Beach Surfrider would like to extend a big thank you to all of the volunteers that helped us protect our ocean, waves and beaches in 2009. In fact, so far 5,077 of you helped us cleanup the beaches in Huntington/Seal Beach this year!
Trash builds up on our beaches from several sources. In the summer months there are many visiting the beaches that sometimes forget to take out all the trash that they brought. During the winter months rainy weather brings all the trash on our streets into the flood channels that dump into our ocean, this trash washes up on our beaches.
