TAM Announces Legacy Dinner, Aviation Industry Career Expo and AmeriCorps*VISTA Projects
Assemblymember Isadore Hall, III to be the Keynote Speaker at Legacy Dinner on Friday, May 14th. Other guests expected to attend include Senator Rod Wright, Councilman Bernard Parks, and Mayor Perrodin, to name a few.  Los Angeles, CA - May 14-15, 2010 - On Friday, TAM will host Legacy, A Tribute to the Tuskegee Airmen Dinner and Silent Auction at The Proud Bird to raise funds for the Aero Squad After School Program, and celebrate our recent accomplishments. The Legacy Dinner is sponsored by by Steve Kerdoon// DeMenno Kerdoon. In celebration of International Learn to Fly Day, TAM will host the Aviation Industry Career Expo and Job Fair on Saturday, May 15. Exhibitors and aircraft participants will include the U.S. Navy, U.S. Air Force, Tuskegee Airmen, Buffalo Soldiers, Boeing, Santa Monica Museum of Flying, Organization of Black Aerospace Professionals, California Black Aviatiors Association, and many more! EAA Young Eagles will be providing a limited number of free airplane rides to kids. Come hungry and join Cliff's Burrito Eating Contest. Help Fight Poverty in Compton! 
The Corporation for National and Community Service provides opportunities for Americans of all ages and backgrounds to serve their communities and country through three programs: Senior Corps, AmeriCorps, and Learn and Serve America. Together with TAM, the Corporation is working to build a culture of citizenship, service, and responsibility in Compton.
In the past 40 years, over 177,000 people have served as VISTA volunteers working with local organizations to strengthen communities and help people escape poverty. TAM, a grantee of the Corporation for National and Community Service, announces opportunities for three full-time VISTA members to assist TAM in building capacity and helping the Aero Squad After School Program improve and expand! Two positions are available immediately: A Youth Outreach Coordinator and Development Associate.
Benefits include Living Allowance, Stipend or Education Award after completion of one year, Training, Health Coverage, and Child Care Assistance, if needed.

About Tomorrow's Aeronautical Museum
TAM is a 501(c)(3) non-profit based in Compton, CA, and has established the nation's first aviation-based mentoring and cultural center for at-risk youth entitled "Roots & Wings". The primary programs are the Aero Squad After School Program, Aviation Explorers, and Positive Vibrations Outreach. TAM's mission is to encourage youth involvement in aviation as an alternative to drugs, gang violence, and other self-destructive activities. Its programs are designed to positively influence the lives of youth by reducing juvenile delinquency, increasing school performance, and serving as a highly reproducible model for other communities across the country. |
