Diggin' Derby
The city continues work to transform Derby, with construction beginning on the intersection of 72nd Place and Monaco Street. This intersection will be redesigned with brick pavers, wider sidewalks and beautiful landscaping.
The Derby Resource Center building will receive a facelift, with installation of a new awning, signs, landscaping and patio, along with lighting improvements.
Both projects begin in May and will last much of the summer. Derby will be open for business throughout construction.
For more information about Derby redevelopment, contact Charlene Meeker at 303-289-1735 or send her an e-mail at cmeeker@c3gov.com. |
Derby intersection construction
As noted above, the intersection of East 72nd Place and Monaco Street is now closed as crews begin demolition work there. Utility work will be under way the last week in May. While the intersection is expected to remain closed for several months, all businesses will be accessible and will remain open.
Other projects:

Set to open the week of May 24 is a new bridge along Dahlia Street near I-76; Adams County recently completed work to replace the old bridge there. The City of Thornton next begins a project to realign Dahlia, with construction activity expected next week. Dahlia Street closures are expected beginning in late July or early August.
