Final Days for Two Spring Exhibitions

Nosadella AnnunciationThe Making of a Masterpiece: Nosadella's Annunciation and The Artist as Image
On view through May 16

As the weather warms and the seasons change, so do our exhibitions! If you haven't had a chance to visit yet, you won't want to miss the final days of two of the Museum's current exhibitions--The Making of a Masterpiece: Nosadella's Annunciation and The Artist as Image. These quietly extraordinary exhibitions focus on the life behind a work of art: The Making of a Masterpiece explores the artist's creative process, while The Artist as Image looks at the representation of artistic identity in modern European and American art.

Awards Ceremony and Opening Reception
Friday, May 7, 2010, 4:30 p.m.
Friend Center Atrium, Princeton University

Celebrating the aesthetics of research and the ways in which science and engineering inform art (and vice versa), the Princeton University Art Museum is pleased to join sponsors from across the University in supporting this year's annual Art of Science Competition. This year's competition, focused on the theme of "Energy," invited members of the Princeton community to submit images made during the course of scientific research that also have aesthetic value. Come out for a special awards ceremony and opening reception at the Friend Center.

Greening Princeton Fashion Sketch
Sustainable Designs Judging Session
Thursday, April 29, 7:30 p.m.

Join us this Thursday for a judging session that makes going green the height of fashion. The Art Museum is pleased to present the designers' final runway designs and judging session, the culmination of a sustainable design contest sponsored by Greening Princeton and SURGE. Organized to bring awareness of eco-fashion to campus and stimulate the creative use of recycled fabrics and materials, the competition--with designs including a blouse made entirely of Paris Metro tickets and a pleated skirt devised from Whole Foods bags--seeks to heighten awareness of our daily choice of clothing.

Members of the Student Advisory Board enjoy This is VersaillesThank You to Our Student Advisory Board!

With the academic year coming to a close, we offer a special word of thanks to this year's fantastic Student Advisory Board. Their hard work has helped make sure that students' voices are always a part of the conversation at the Museum. They have volunteered to lead weekly tours, reached out to countless visitors, and planned such programs as Failed Love and This is Versailles--the recent student gala that brought over 900 visitors for a very late Late Thursday (til 2 a.m.!), praised by one student attendee as a "most amazing night...every Princeton party should be like this!". Congratulations in particular to this year's seniors: Will Palley, president, and Dana Eitches, social media chair.
