Gallery Spotlight
Rodin's Age of BronzeThe Age of Bronze
Auguste Rodin

One of many treasures in the Museum's collections, this important sculpture by Auguste Rodin now has a new home at the entrance to the galleries of Western art.  Originally criticized by contemporaries for its ambiguous pose and all too realistic representation of muscle and bone, it later gained acclaim as one of the defining works of the age -- and a commercial success for the artist.  Now greeting visitors from across Marquand Mather Court, this beautiful cast provides a critical transition to the art of the modern world.
