Greetings!
Wouldn't it be nice to have a resource that could make helpful suggestions to you about books you'd be interested in reading? A resource that would only bring titles to your attention that you wanted, and not those you didn't...and even would tell you if it was available for free right away?
Interested reader, meet NextReads. It's the Pasadena Public Library's great new service that puts you in the driver's seat when it comes to searching for topics of interest on your reading list. No more hit or miss reviews or hoping you'll come across those volumes that engage you by chance.
Instead, pick from NextReads' broad category list, and choose audio books; mysteries; New York Times' best-selling fiction; biographies and memoirs; popular culture; Christian fiction, teen specific and more. You'll get messages with your topic picks in your email in-box...or subscribe to the NextReads' RSS feed and you'll always be up-to-date on the latest and greatest offerings. You'll also be able to find out if your picks are already in our catalog, and how to get them even if they're not.
How do you take advantage of this new NextReads service? Just go to our homepage at http://www.ppltx.net/ and click on the banner for NextReads, create your account and subscribe. You may also sign-up when you visit the library, or you can call a helpful staff member listed on the NextReads information page. Any way you do it, it's a great tool for sharpening your skills as you hunt for the titles you really want.
NextReads is another example of how your Pasadena Public Library is working to make the best use of new tools and new opportunities. Today's reader often doesn't have the time -or the spare cash- to invest in costly or fruitless searches, whether for appropriate books, self-help information, difficult-to-find data, research questions or similar pursuits. And increasingly, that's where you'll find your Pasadena Public Library concentrating our efforts.
We're here to make it more convenient, more economical and, yes, more fun for you to locate and use the information that is important to you. Please give us the opportunity to help enrich your life through learning, whether by NextReads, our extensive database offerings, research desk assistance, child and youth services, senior outreach, our business center services and so much more. You'll be surprised how much we've grown...come grow along with us!
