In the closest finish since 2004, Fletcher Thompson has won its first Griffin Hospital community Corporate Cup! The margin of victgory over defending champion CDW-G was only .42 by a 143.34 to 141.92 score. The last time the results were this close was in 2004 when Tele-Media Cable (Now Comcast) topped PerkinElmer by.25. The only other time the results were this close was in 1998 when Birmingham Group (Now BHcare) and Griffin Hospital tied for the championship. Ironically, that was the last time that either team won the competition.
Thaddeus Kurkowsi of CDW-G must be one of the healthiest persons in the Valley as he won the Healthy Team championship for the second straight year, but with a different partner. He partnered with Cindy Chatterton to win this year's title after teaming with Justin Sikora in 2011. However, the margin of victory was only 2 points over BHcare's Kristina Steyer and Amber Dobbin (147-145) compared to last year's 5 point margin.
Fletcher Thompson's Christina Watson and Kari Candelora finished third with 139 points. The race for fourth was extremely close as BIC's Stephen Willett and Margaret Katrenya nosed out Fletcher Thompson's Bob Klein and Mike Bensch by a single point132-131. 2008 winners Alexis and David Tomczak of Perkin Elmer were only 1 more point behind.
