Fletcher Thompson Putts to Title

Fletcher Thompson had a good night on the links as they topped a field of 31 teams by two strokes to win the Corporate Cup Mini-Golf Tournament. David Giamalis, Bob Klein, Nicole Nemeth and Andy Krochko didn't let the cool and sometimes misty weather bother them as they maneuvered around the tough course at the Sports center of Connecticut. They were one of eight teams that managed to break the magic 200 score on the night. For full results and many pictures, click here.

Spectrum Plastics Was Best at Horseshoes

Bob Wayman and Mike Kozlowski have long been one of the top teams in the Corporate Cup Horseshoes Tournament, but this year they finally grabbed the gold with a couple of dramatic wins to secure their first championship. The duo toppled CDW-G's Gene and Dave Letoruneau in the title game after the CDW-G team had moved through the losers bracket and demolished Spectrum to force the "If" game for the championship.

Mini-Golf Win Keeps Fletcher Thompson on top

Fletcher Thompson and CDW-G are starting to open a gap between themselves and the rest of the field in the race for the 2012 Corporate Cup. Fletcher Thompson and CDW-G have finished within a half point of each other in every single event this year, and the Architects win in mini-golf has now put them ahead by 1.5 points.

The biggest change in the standings following mini-golf was rather dramatic as TEAM dropped all the way from third to sixth when they finished in 25th place in the event. Spectrum Plastics, Perkin Elmer and BIC all moved up a spot to round out the top five.

Register Now for Wiffle Ball, Bocce and the 5K
 Registration for Saturday's Wiffle Ball Tournament closes on Wednesday. We have a new location this year. The tournament will be played at Lafayette Field (right behind United Way's office at 54 Grove Street). We may have to limit the number of teams from any one company for this event due to space limitations, so it is very important that you don't miss the deadline for registration!

The Young Emerging Professionals will be selling water and sports drinks during the Corporate Cup wiffle ball event. 100% of the proceeds will support the Griffin Hospitals Breast Wellness Center.

While you're at it, it's not too early to get your registration in for Bocce on June 5 & 6 (if needed) and for the 5K Walk/Run on June 13.

Healthy Team Post Testing - Next Week 

 

Post testing for the Healthy Team competition begins on Monday, May 21. How are you doing with your progress? We had another great meal the other day with the nutritionist at Griffin Hospital presenting many great tips on the food standards coming from the federal government. In case you missed it, you can find out more at ChooseMyPlate.  

 

When you come for your post test, please remember to bring all of your paper work with you. We cannot complete the scoring without it!

 

And speaking of scoring, we had an error in the booklet. There are no bonus points or points subtracted for year to year participation. Participants will only be scored for this year's results.

 

Bonus Points

Don't forget to get your CEO to participate and earn the 5 extra points that count towards the final overall standings - not for Healthy Team. There is still time to stop by the Griffin Library where you can also pick up Healthy Team bonus points.
