Campaign Kick Off Plants Seeds of Success

Valley United Way officially began the 2011-2012 Community Fundraising Campaign on Tuesday, September 27 with a great reception at Jones Family Farms & Winery in Shelton sponsored by Prudential Annuities.

It was a warm, friendly evening attended by a large crowd of community leaders. Campaign Chair Joseph Pagliaro Jr. introduced his cabinet and announced a goal of $1,150,000 for this year's campaign.

Youth Leadership Named Silver Seal Award Winner

Youth Leadership      

We're quite proud of our Youth Leadership Program and all of the students who have gone through it over the past 20 plus years. And they have now earned another great community honor - the Greater Valley Chamber of Commerce's Silver Seal Award.The award will be presented at the 40th Annual Gold Seal Awards Banquet on November 3. We want to congratulate Norm Santa who is this year's Platinum Award winner and Randy Ritter, Suzanne Reilly and Naomi Wallace who will be receiving Gold Awards.
We would also like to acknowledge the newest member of Valley United Way's Board of Directors, Jimmy Tickey. Jimmy is a graduate of the Youth Leadership program. He served as president of the group in 2004, and now he's putting the skills that he learned back then to work as a member of the Board!

Valley United Way is pleased to announce its first ever Young Professionals Night to be held on Thursday, October 27 at Downtown Danny O's in Shelton.

United Way Board Member Named Honorary Starter for Thanksgiving Race

  

Dominick Thomas A member of Valley United Way's Board of Directors has been named as the Honorary Starter for the Tenth Annual Commodore Hull Thanksgiving Day 5K Road Race through the streets of downtown Shelton and Derby. The committee annually honors someone for their service to the two communities and Dominick is a worthy choice.
