2011 Community Corporate Cup Set To Begin

PerkinElmer Wins Corporate Cup
Fred Rubino and Bob VanEgghen accept the 2010 Cup from Jack Walsh

With four consecutive Corporate Cup victories, PerkinElmer is undoubtedly the king of the hill. But can they stay on top this year?

That's an intriguing question as we begin the pursuit of the 2011 Community Corporate Cup with an opening reception on Feb. 15. Click here to register. Join us and other Valley contenders as we kick off this year's competition!

Griffin will also be hosting the Healthy Team Breakfast on March 7 from 7:30-8:30 am. Click here to register. This event is limited to the first 40 participants.

The Corporate Cup is open to all area employee groups and consists of a variety of athletic and health events. The Corporate Cup is a collaborative effort of Valley United Way, The Valley YMCA, the Griffin Health Service Corporation and the Greater Valley Chamber of Commerce.

Save Money, Register Teams Early

Check markThe most cost-effective way for companies to participate is to register for the entire Corporate Cup rather than at each individual event. Submitting an electronic registration form and the special rate of $500 entitles you to enter one team in each of the Corporate Cup events, which include: Healthy Team, Bocce, Wiffleball, Bowling, Darts, Horseshoes, Miniature Golf, Orienteering and the first runner in the 5K Run.  It also includes the cost of special events such as the Healthy Meals and receptions.

This $500 payment will save $175 over the cost of registering and paying at each individual event. As an additional bonus, you may enter another team in each event for the price of $350. Only your highest scoring team will score points in an event when you enter more than one. Rosters for individual events may be submitted by using the on-line forms for each of those events found here.

Schedule of Events Posted

Groups can participate in as few or as many events as they choose. Since the overall winner is decided by total points accumulated throughout the series, it is beneficial to enter every event.

YMCA's New Logo

YMCAWe would like to point out that the YMCA has changed their logo to include a new font and color scheme. The organization now known as "The Y" still holds onto the same core values but gives children and families a fresh new look. "The Y: We're for youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility."
