Help Promote Awareness of the Earned Income Tax Credit

Since 1975, the Earned Income Tax Credit has been offering tax relief to low and moderate income individuals and families. In recent years, CT filers claiming EITC have received an average credit of over $1,800 on their federal taxes. Once again, United Way of Connecticut is working to inform and educate families about their eligibility for EITC and other federal tax credits.

TEAM, Inc. in Derby is the local provider of this valuable service, and they have done an outstanding job of saving Valley residents thousands of dollars. You can learn more about their service by clicking here.

Campaign Update

GoodrichAs the snow continues to flurry, so do Valley United Way campaign results. Despite a stalled economy, many of our donors understand the need in our community and are pledging dollars to help. The following campaigns have shown an increase in donations over last year: Gexpro, Iroquois Gas Transmission System, Naugatuck Valley Health District and New Haven Legal.

These campaigns would not be possible without the energetic efforts of each company's campaign coordinator. They provide the time, talent and commitment it takes to run successful campaigns in their respective workplaces. With heartfelt thanks we would like to recognize them and the important role they play. These dedicated volunteers help make our community an even better place to live.
