Corporate Volunteer Council Clothes 212 Children in Derby!!

Corporate Volunteer Council
Our Corporate Volunteer Council has really stepped up to the plate to help make the start of the new school year in Derby a successful one. They held a Back to School party for students from Irving and Bradley elementary schools and provided two complete outfits, sneakers, a winter coat and a backpack full of supplies for 212 children - a new record. Since this project first started, they have clothed 1,901 children in Ansonia, Derby, Oxford, Seymour and Shelton - and the value of all that clothing is over $380,000!
We have much more on the website, including video and lots of pictures. Click here to see the complete story.
Harvest House III - 9/26/09
hh3

Not one to rest on their laurels, the CVC is hard at work on the Valley's hunger problem. Harvest House III will be rising on the Riverwalk in Shelton with up to 100,000 cans of food used in the construction. The Echo House Ambulance Service is joining the effort this year and adding an exciting new dimension. The "house" will be dismantled and all of the food will be distributed to food banks in the Valley.

Full details, including FAQ sheets and other support materials, are available on the website. For further information, you can also contact Patricia Tarasovic, Volunteer Center Director, at (203) 926-9478 or at patricia.tarasovic@valleyunitedway.org.
