Production of the 2012-2013 Membership Roster Begins
Beth Stroshane CSI CCS
Why do you care?
You have moved places of employment in the last year, and people are trying to remember where you went.
This roster is used daily to weekly by most of the specification writers in town to connect architects with local product representatives. These are architects working on active projects, looking for a basis of design product, trying to figure out how to detail a stair tread insert, select a louver, or choose a roofing system.
How the Roster Works: - Alphabetical Listing by Last Name
- This comes free with your chapter membership.
- This helps me find Dave Killian's number if I remember he was the rep for NorthClad and I want to talk to him.
- Alphabetical Listing by Company Name
- This comes free with your chapter membership.
- This helps me find that guy at NorthClad I spoke with but I cannot remember his name.
- This will NOT help me find that guy who represents AWV Louvers because his company name is Window Tech.
- Product Listing
- This costs $14.50.
- This helps me find that Window Tech guy who represents AWV Louvers.
- MasterFormat Listing:
- This costs $28.00 per listing.
- This helps me find all the local representatives I have not met yet.
- This helps me find "that lady that sells roller shades" that I met at the January meeting.
- This helps me find somebody local who represents tile setting materials, or hollow metal doors, or curtain wall, or sealant, or Owens Corning.
- If you represent more than one product please purchase listings for each line you represent so specifiers and architects can find you when they want one of your products.
- If you represent only one product please purchase a listing for the line you represent. You will be on the page, with your competitor, that gets copied out of the book when I send an architect off to talk to everyone local who represents corner guards. They have a picture of a corner guard they are trying to match.
- If you are a roofing consultant please purchase a listing for something in Division 07.
For less than the price of a lunch and learn your information can be on the desk of every specifier all year long.
We all like to think we are brilliant; but we forget names and phone numbers, we lose cards.
We can always find our membership roster, or get another one.
What do you do NOW?
- Log on to CSI National website and make sure your contact information is up to date.
- Renew your membership if you have been putting it off.
- Think about what listings would best serve your business.
- Watch you mail. Your 2012-2013 Membership Roster update and order form will be arriving in June.
- If you don't find it, contact the local CSI office by June 30 to make sure you, and your correct information are included.

ProSpec a Success
David Huffman CSI CCCA
I had a great time at ProSpec this year. As usual, the Bell Harbor was a great place to meet and enjoy the company of colleagues. The seminar on building envelope design presented by Stéphane P. Hoffman and Medgar Marceau was extraordinary. As usual, dinner was delicious-I had the island style banana leaf roasted black cod. My host, David Walter of Coastal Specified Products, regaled the table with tales of his adventures in roofing.
This was the first year we had a keynote speaker "team." Mario Espinosa and Joe Vondrak were very engaging. I learned quite a bit from their presentation on historic renovation.
The ProSpec planning committee and I are looking forward to doing it again next year. We have already booked the lovely Bell Harbor Conference Center for Tuesday, April 23, 2013. Look for tables to go on sale in November at www.csi-prospec.org. See you next year! |
