Greetings!
Max Hoeft  | JoAnn's Dad was an honest-to-goodness American hero, a farm kid named Max Hoeft, who left his home in North Dakota at 16 to join the Navy when WWII broke out. He served on the ARKANSAS at Normandy and then in the Korean War and finally in Viet Nam, eventually being mustered out as an officer. My Dad volunteered for the Army at about the Max Foxx  | same time but was turned down because of a heart murmur and he had to content himself with being an Air Raid Warden, my hero, and following the exploits of his youngest brother who went ashore under fire during the invasion of Guam. When I was growing up, Father's Day was always connected somehow to Memorial Day and Flag Day and it was only years later, when I had my own kids, that I realized what went into being a Dad. My Father had an incredible influence on me, instilling the ideals of service and of patriotism long before I could understand what those words meant. I only knew JoAnn's Dad for 17 years but it was long enough for me to have found out what made that patriot tick. My admiration for both of these men is boundless. So with Flag Day and Father's Day upon us, and Memorial Day just past, it is the time of year we honor Fathers along with the people who made the ultimate sacrifice for this country. Most Fathers will never have gone to war but the challenges of the job are staggering and the rewards immeasurable. At The Medical and Skin Spa we treat a lot of men in an environment that is welcoming, comfortable, and non-threatening. FUR THERAPY
No, I'm not talking about ermine or mink.
It's not exactly a news flash but we're all battling stress every day. Along with just about everyone else I know I've tried all the usual stressbusters...yoga, meditation, going to the gym, Pilates, you name it. They're all wonderful and all have their place but somehow I've not found anything quite as relaxing as hanging around with a fur-bearing beast. Horses, dogs, cats, it doesn't seem to matter.
The Doc will tell you that studies have shown that petting a dog or a cat or a horse lowers your blood pressure and slows your pulse. I have to take his word for that. All I can tell you is that quiet moments with Sammy the dog, looking into his eyes and stroking his massive head seem to take me to a different place. I always come away from encounters like that refreshed and renewed.
It works for me and I can't recommend that enough.

ALWAYS FREE PARKING!

In the seven years we have been at Hyatt we have seen the parking lot attempt many different incarnations to alleviate the very rare times when there are no spaces available. The latest attempt involves the erection of an attendant kiosk.
All our patients need to know, however, is that their parking is always FREE.
Hyatt booth  | Merely pull up to the kiosk (pictured above) and tell the attendant you are going to (or coming from) our office. He will give you a ticket and wave you through with a cheery "Good Morning" or some variation thereof. We will sign the ticket and you merely return that to him when you leave.
Should no spaces be available, remember all you need do is drive to the front of the hotel and take advantage of complimentary valet parking. Shuttle service to and from our office is always available upon your request.
