 Everything we do at The Medical and Skin Spa acknowledges the contribution of general health to the health and overall appearance of skin. That awareness starts with the questions we ask new patients about diet, supplements, and stress and continues on to the programs we encourage our patients to follow at home. It's prevention taken to the nth degree. That's why we were so encouraged by the recent blog written by Susie Ellis, Publisher of SPA FINDER, one of our favorite spa magazines. "Prevention has moved front and center on the world health stage," she wrote, "and the spa industry's role in prevention-focused health regimes will be greatly emphasized and more forcefully promoted in 2010.""The analogous trend on the beauty front is the ever more intense focus on anti-aging treatments: a continued explosion of treatments, diets, and products (of course, sunscreen) that get aggressive early to...avoid costly, invasive actions after the fact."When the idea of a medical spa first came to us ten years ago, that's exactly what we visualized. It is a special feeling when your dreams are validated. More validation came along when the Doc was appointed to the Peer Review Panel for HEALTHY AGINGmagazine.  OUTWITTING STRESS
Stress is a constant in our lives. And even though there are some experts that
tell us that some stress is good, outwitting it and getting through the day
sometimes takes all the tricks we can muster-meditation, yoga, working out,
walking.
Athletes deal with stress on a regular basis and often use
something called imagery to regain control. I inadvertently stumbled upon the wisdom of
that when a dear friend gave me a wonderful set of silver bracelets not long
ago that were adorned with many ancient symbols of healing based on Balinese
and Asian cultures. My friend told me
that they would promote health and wellness and although I originally dismissed
the idea I soon discovered that merely looking at them seemed to center me and
helped to defuse stressful moments.
Because of that experience I began to wear them regularly
and I have been surprised how many of you noticed and commented about
them. Please ask me about these
treasures if you seek calm and serenity.

Free valet and shuttle service, too.
Visitors to the office will note the presence of a parking attendant in our lot. If you are stopped either going in or going out, simply tell the attendant that you are a patient of Doctor Foxx's and you will be waved through.
The resort is often host to a variety of meetings, parties, etc. As a result, parking is sometimes at a premium (including the spaces we have reserved for our patients).
Don't despair! Merely drive over to the main entrance of the resort, valet your trusty carriage, and ask for a shuttle to the office. We will validate your parking stub after your appointment, call a shuttle for you, and you'll be on your way.
It's as easy as that. Valet parking is also a good idea if it is raining. You can exit under the porte cochere and stay dry.
