Friends of the Federated Indians of Graton Rancheria was formed to promote the Rohnert Park casino project. Amply funded, supposedly by Connie Codding, with as much as $500,000, "Friends" used to be all over the place promoting Greg Sarris' csino project. But "Friends" has been pretty quiet lately. Now up pops former principal and front man, er, front person, Susan Moore with a brand new job: she's now President of the Brady Campaign for Sonoma County!
So I did a quick check with the Secretary of State's web site, and found that the corporation known as Friends of the Federated Indians of Graton Rancheria, has had its corporate status suspended by the State of California. This doesn't appear to be a good thing.
According to the Secretary's FAQ's, the state says, " A business entity's powers, rights and privileges can be suspended or forfeited
in California by (1) the Secretary of State for failure to file the required Statement of Information; and/or (2) the Franchise Tax Board for failure to file a tax return and/or failure to pay taxes, penalties or interest..."
YIKES!
The "Friends" web site is down, too. Data search for "whois" friendsoffigr.com shows the contact person to be an individual with an email address of "@gratonrancheria.com " No surprise there.
"Friends" was a non-profit whose supposed function was "minority rights", yet all they did was lobby for the casino.
It is said that Greg Sarris promised Susan Moore mucho dinero for projects proposed by the members of her "No Name" women's group, to be paid as soon as the casino was built. So that was her motive. I always wondered....
Now Susan Moore is campaigning against firearms. How does she expect us to protect ourselves from the criminals who will follow in the casino's wake? (Just kidding!)
