Cashmere 'tricks' for parents of Newborns We have been doing a lot of research in the past month over customers' perception of cashmere for newborns... Whilst the vast majority of the focus group sang the praises of a lovely piece of pure cashmere knit over and over again, a few were absolutely terrified at the idea of buying something 'precious' for their little ones, in case it would get spoilt!

In order to convince them there is nothing scary about cashmere, I decided to bring out my boys' little cashmere collection, worn pretty much every day since the day they were born and handed down from Tyrone to Louis.
The overall reaction was one of absolute surprise among the lovely group. Some believed that I was actually showing them like new samples (How kind! They thought the garments in front of them were used for press purposes only and had actually never been worn and washed with such frequency as they actually did!!!), whilst others were astounded that something they perceived as being so scary could still look pretty good after 6+ years of regular use! I know from experience that every time I buy something of good quality, whether for me or for the children, it lasts - this is not fiction, but a fact! There are, of course, many children's clothes available on the market, but I find that most of them, when super affordable, are also super disposable! Our cashmere is unblended, 100% pure and it comes from what I believe to be the best source in the world, Loropiana.
If you look after your babies' and toddlers' Stellina Baby clothes, they will look after your little ones over and over again. The trick is some TLC, a washing machine with the hand wash setting for a true delicate treatment or a gentle hand wash in tepid water with delicates fabric liquid. Nothing else but common sense has to apply from there - no hard wringing! Drying flat or rolled in a cotton towel to absorb excess water, is our recommended approach and a very gentle touch of ironing once dry if needed! I always treat my own cashmere knits, Alistair's and the kids' in the same way and the terror of it all simply never manifested itself!
