Most of the items you see in the
photo are new, so keep your eyes peeled for the uploads on the site (finally,
phew!).
THIS IS WHAT WE LOVE:
With all the new products coming
through every day, there has been so much excitement at our head office! But I
like to think that some of our products are real staples to our collection. So,
amongst my 'old' favourites, I have the Liquirizia...
I particularly love the Liquirizia
as Alistair and I chose the grey/yellow version take Louis home from the
hospital when he was born, and he was so cosy in it!
I found it so useful on cold days out
and Louis wore it under a little pram coat or simply by itself, wrapped in his
Rossana Baby Blanket and ready for his daily walks....
He wore it indoors and outdoors on
so many occasions, until he could literally no longer fit in it!
What I love even more is that the
cashmere washed amazingly and if you look at it now, it is exactly the same as
when we first tried it on our little (now two year old) baby!
It is a simple design, but a
timeless one... a real staple, as I said...
Some Top Tips for Cashmere:
A very distressed friend rang me
last week to let me know that she had started finding little holes in her most
precious and favourite cashmere jumpers...
She wanted some advice on how to
deal with the dreaded MOTHS and I contacted one of our factories to ask for
their expert advice on how to combat these destructive creatures!
They told me some facts which I knew
and some which I didn't, so here is a little guide on how to fight off moths
(in a nutshell):
1. If you find any signs of moth attack (!), then immediately wash
your garment/get it dry cleaned.
2. Put your cashmere garments in the freezer for a couple of days -
this will kill any eggs laid by the moths, but ensure to wrap the garment in a
plastic bag first to prevent the yarn being damaged by the build up of
condensation.
3.
Cedarwood
and lavender might help to repel moths temporarily, but the best advice would
be to invest in garment bags, particularly if you are planning to store winter
clothes in the Summer.
4.
If your windows are open on warm summer evenings, be
sure to draw the curtains or even use a fly-screen. Moths are (famously)
attracted to light.
5.
Keep
watch over your high-risk zones: dark cupboards, spare rooms and the space
under the bed. Moths like to lay their eggs in these dark and seldom-disturbed
nooks.
6.
Vacuum regularly - especially under beds and chairs.
This will get rid of any moth eggs that are waiting to hatch.
The
funny side of the story is that they asked me to tell my friend to feel
flattered, as moths only attack the best quality clothes (cashmere, fur,
feathers, silk and anything that is not synthetic!). I wonder whether she will
find it amusing, though....
Happy Stellina Baby shopping!
