Thank you!
We're thankful for all the wonderful support we receive from the community of Yuma. The Humane Society of Yuma relies on the generous support of our volunteers, donors, and adopters.

And we're sure our shelter guests don't mind us speaking for them when we tell you that they, too, are sincerely grateful for your friendship and support.

Be-Humane Kids
John, Matthew, Joshua, Jason Magallanes visited our shelter in their Be-Humane t-shirts with their family to look for a new family member. We're thankful that Yuma's being humane!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Community Outreach Coordinator Jamie Casselman visited  Rancho Viejo Elementary last week to pick up some doggie blankets that the Student Council had made out of fleece as a service project.  The student council adviser, Jenny Kaste, is also an HSOY volunteer. Thank you to Rancho Viejo Elementary Student Council for giving our dogs some extra warmth!

Crackers and his two brothers, Munchy and Peanut are available for adoption at our PetSmart Adoption Center along with many other incredibly loving cats and kittens at both our shelter and at PetSmart. SUCCESS STORY
Enzo lives the bella vita in new home.

Dear HSOY,

Here is an update of our poodle (originally named Roger) whom we have named Enzo (we named him aptly so because he is so fast and a good reminder of the beautiful country we have just returned from after living in for 3 years - Italy).

He already responds to his new name.  He eats well, has been to the vet for a full check up - and he was just fine except for a little kennel cough and has taken a course of antibiotics and is doing great!

We had heard that in his previous adoptive family he used to escape and bark a lot - he does not do that with us, he loves being both indoors and outdoors playing in the garden (chewing on sticks), and he loves attention. He definitely prefers humans to other animals. He does a very cute 'spin & bark' move whenever he wants to play (aka whenever he wants us to chase him around the yard for his amusement).

He is a sensitive. slightly crazy, loving and a very sweet dog and we wouldn't give him up for the world.

grazie mille for taking care of me until my mama & papa came to fetch me. Tutto bene! I am happy at last.''

Thanks for the good work HSOY!
All the best,
Shizette & Alex Parker
FEATURED PET
Gilligan
Gilligan

This handsome fellow is named Gilligan. Gilligan, or "Gilli" for short, is around two years old and has a gentle giant appeal about him. He's like a big huggable teddy bear. Gilligan was saved off a busy street here in Yuma by one of our animal control officers. He had no tags, no collar, and no family ever came by looking for him. Gilligan, true to his name, is a goofy boy with a great personality and would make a wonderful furry family member. We have seen Gilligan be just as sweet as can be with adults and small children, he doesn't seem to mind any of the other dog's around him and he is pretty good about waiting to potty outside. So if you have room in your heart and home and you are looking for a big lovable dog...look no further Gilligan will be here waiting for you... here on Gilligan's Island!
FEATURED PET
Lobo
Lobo

Take a look at this handsome dog. Lobo is a gorgeous, red Alaskan Malamute who we're guessing is around three years old. Lobo was a stray picked up the first week of this month wandering on the busy streets of Yuma. A week or so later, Lobo's family came in and identified him as their dog and gave us his real name Lobo. We got the big boy up to our spay and neuter clinic for the family to get his rabies vaccine , microchip and neutered. But sadly, for whatever reason his family never came back. So now Lobo is looking for love. He's very strong which is one of his breed's qualities. He's probably housebroken and knows "sit". So if you are looking for a new furry family member, save a life and adopt a shelter pet. Right now we are over full and these animals are all too sweet they deserve a second chance to love life!
FEDERAL EMPLOYEES AND MILITARY PERSONNEL
We need you to join the CFC
Uncle Sam

The Combined Federal Campaign of Arizona allows federal employees to sign up for payroll deductions to the participating charity of their choice. If you are or know of a federal employee or member of our armed forces, we urge you to join the CFC to support the Humane Society of Yuma's year round work of taking care of Yuma's homeless animals.

This year marks the 50th anniversary of the CFC, which was created by an executive order issued by President Kennedy in 1961.  Today, the CFC is the world's largest and most successful annual workplace charity campaign, with more than 200 CFC campaigns throughout the country and internationally. Pledges made by federal civilian, postal and military donors during the campaign season (September 1st to December 15th) support eligible non-profit organizations throughout the world.

Speak with your payroll officer or H.R. Department today and tell that the Humane Society of Yuma (Code #47992) sent you!
SHOP AT ONE OF OVER 2,500 ONLINE STORES AND OUR PETS WIN!
Remember Yuma's homeless pets on Cyber Monday!

Cyber Monday is online commerce's version of Black Friday and our pets stand to cash in big if you take heed to this article!

Over the last few years, HSOY has raised over $3,000 just from supporters doing what they'd normally be doing online: searching and shopping.

How we've been able to do that is with GoodShop.com and GoodSearch.com.

GoodShop.com works with more than 2,500 stores (including Target, Apple, Petsmart etc..) and every time you purchase something, a percentage will be donated to us to help Yuma's homeless pets. And if that's not enough,  GoodShop also offers over 100,000 of the most up-to-date coupons and free shipping offers so you can save money at the same time. It's win win.

 Goodshop

GoodSearch is a Yahoo powered search engine which makes a donation to us each time you do a search.

Install your GoodShop/GoodSearch toolbar right now on your Firefox or Internet Explorer browser here

While there isn't a toolbar available for Google Chrome, you can easily set GoodSearch as your default search provider by following the instructions at this link.

Refuse to install another toolbar? That's okay. Just be sure to link to the store of your choice from the GoodShop homepage before making the purchase.
