PETSMART ADOPTION CENTER
Dog adoption center temporarily closed

Last Friday, PetSmart informed us that we  had to immediately stop allowing the dogs to be taken outside of the store to relieve themselves.  They informed us that it was a contractual issue with all of the adoption centers that they needed to review and that there had been no complaints about our center.

PetSmart estimated that there would be no resolution to the issue for at least a month. For humane reasons, HSOY decided to remove dogs from the adoption center until the issue was favorably resolved.  Some dogs will not defecate or urinate indoors, and will suffer until they are taken outside to relieve themselves.

Our cat adoption center inside PetSmart continues to operate. Additionally, our shelter will be open for adoptions on Sundays from 10am to 4pm.

The Humane Society of Yuma is very appreciative of everything PetSmart has done and continues to do to help us adopt out Yuma's homeless pets into loving homes. We hope this issue can be quickly resolved in order to continue using PetSmart's adoption center to place more dogs into the forever homes they deserve.

FEDERAL EMPLOYEES AND MILITARY PERSONNEL
We need you to join the CFC
Uncle Sam

The Combined Federal Campaign of Arizona allows federal employees to sign up for payroll deductions to the participating charity of their choice. If you are or know of a federal employee or member of our armed forces, we urge you to join the CFC to support the Humane Society of Yuma's year round work of taking care of Yuma's homeless animals.

This year marks the 50th anniversary of the CFC, which was created by an executive order issued by President Kennedy in 1961.  Today, the CFC is the world's largest and most successful annual workplace charity campaign, with more than 200 CFC campaigns throughout the country and internationally. Pledges made by federal civilian, postal and military donors during the campaign season (September 1st to December 15th) support eligible non-profit organizations throughout the world.
Speak with your payroll officer or H.R. Department today and tell that the Humane Society of Yuma (Code #47992) sent you!

Kimi Sue is quiet, playful and best of all loves being right by your side, she especially loves being in the arms of someone who loves her. Juan Pablo

Juan Pablo

"Peek -a- boo", says Juan Pablo.  A  gorgeous diluted Tortie-shell kitten, Juan Pablo, or JP as he is sometimes called for short, was rescued with two of his siblings from the grounds of a local veterinary clinic here in town. All three are very cuddly, curious and maybe the most playful kittens you may ever meet. Juan Pablo and his two sisters Celina and Sabrina are about 12 weeks old and ready to move into their fur-ever loving homes.

Pinky

Pinky

This pretty girl is a snowball of energy. Ladies and gentlemen, please meet Pinky! Pinky is a super cute pit mix and has an even more super playful personality. Pinky is only a little over six months old and is all about play, play, and more play! Pinky has been spayed, micro-chipped, and  is current on her vaccines including her rabies shot and she weighs just over 30 pounds. So this means Pinky is ready to move in into someone's heart and her fur-ever home. Pinky is still a big puppy and would really benefit from training. We do recommend Pinky for an adult home or home with teenagers and up. The reason being she is a rambunctious girl, she gets super excited and it would just be easier for her to be with people that will be able to give her that TLC discipline and show her how to grow up into a well behaved young lady. So if your looking for a new furry family member to add to your home, please stop by our shelter and visit with Pinky and many more of our adoptable pet's today!!
