HSOY opens this Sunday afternoon as part of 50% off all adoption in August.
50% off all adoptions through August
Help us spread the word about our 50% off all adoptions for the remainder of August and our special opening of the shelter this Sunday. Print out the flier and post around.

To maximize the success of our current 50% off all adoptions for the rest of August" promotion, we are going to have a special opening of our shelter this Sunday (August 29) from noon to 4:00pm.  While our resources do not all us to be open more than five days a week (our normal hours of operation are Tuesday through Saturday 9am to 5pm), we've decided to go all out to maximize the number of pets that get into good homes.  So why not bring the whole family down this Sunday afternon and bring home a new family member?

The reduced fees are as follows; cats, $23; kittens, $28; dogs, $38; puppies, $45.  All adoptions include the animal's spay or neuter and rabies vaccination and a five lb. starter bag of Hill's Science Diet.  Dog adoptions also include parvo, distemper and bordatella vaccinations and microchipping. Cats at our PetSmart adoption center have been tested for FIV and feline leukemia. Cats can be microchipped for an additional $5.

Excessive Heat Warning extended to Friday
The National Weather Service has extended an excessive heat warning for the Yuma Area until Friday evening.  Ideally, your dog gets to spend the day inside. But if your dog must stay outside, adequate shade and plenty of water are non-negotiables. A kiddie pool (in the shade) is strongly suggested as well. And be good neighbors. If you see a dog without adequate shade or water call us at 782-1621 ext. 106.
Pre-order HSOY Thrift Store cookbook

Pizza for Pets

Lady Bella

Lady Bella

With such a well-behaved beauty, no name could fit her better.  Lady Bella is a sweet girl who we believe to be about one and a half years old judging by her pearly whites.  Lady Bella resembles a shepherd with possible crosses of Vizsla.  But no matter what Lady Bella's lineage, she's such a great girl. Lady Bella has been spayed, micro- chipped, current with her vaccines including her rabies shot and she is just a smidgen over 50 lbs. Lady Bella also has a beautiful honey-colored coat and stunning, golden-green eyes.   She is a beauty fo' sure.

How such a good looking, sweetheart of  a dog not be reclaimed or have anyone looking for her? That's a question asked numerous times by many of us that work here. Take advantage of our August Adoptions and save lives for less.

Noel and oodles of poodles

Noel

Ooodles of fun with oodles of poodles! Please meet, Noel, one of our poodle friends that's available for adoption. We currently have many selections from the poodle genre in our current collection. For the rest of August, we are holding "Saving Lives for Less" event where every adoption, whether at the shelter or at PetSmart, is 50% off. Adoption fees include your pet's spay or neuter, vaccinations and microchipping for dogs.

Rima has been spayed, micro chipped, has current shots as well as her rabies vaccine . All she needs now is a dedicated, playful but firm owner who will teach her the tricks of the trade on being a fantastic pet! So if your looking for a fun, playful pup please come visit Rima and maybe even take her home today!
