Wine-o's for bow-wows and meow-meows rescheduled
 Wine-o's for Bow-Wows and Meow-Meows is back on! Originally scheduled for March 12 and postponed has been rescheduled for April 9 from 3 to 6pm. If you like wine, you'll love "Wine-o's for Bow-wows and Meow-meows" It's at the Yuma's Main Squeeze at 251 S. Main Street from 3pm to 6pm. It's $5 for a glass of wine. $4 of which will be donated to HSOY. There will also be a donation basket and a wishlist item collection.

Support spay & neuter at Planned Pethood's Yappy Hour
 HSOY works closely with Planned Pethood of Yuma in our ever-expanding T.N.R. efforts. We'd like to invite you to their Third Annual "Yappy Hour" wine tasting at the Old Town Wine Cellar at 265 Main Street on Saturday, May 7th from 6 to 9pm. On Saturday, April 2nd, several businesses recognized Be Humane Day with dealing out sweet deals and freebies to patrons wearing HSOY's Be Humane t-shirt.

Chowder
 Meet Chowder: A great looking guy who has a playful personality to match! Chowder is a boxer with a little dash of American bulldog for flavor. He's a little over a year and a half old . He's been neutered, current with all vaccines and a microchip, so he's ready to ship. Chowder has quite a backstory with us that began last month when he was picked up as a stray with a lady friend. Their owner came in and for whatever reason chose not to reclaim either one. A couple of days later both him and his friend found found separate homes. A couple of days after that Chowder shows up at the shelter again, his adopter saying he was food aggressive towards people and other pets. Well, let's just say we respectively and categorically disagree with this individual's behavior assessment of Chowder. He doesn't show any signs of food aggression. He doesn't have a mean bone in his body as far as we can see. If anything, he may lick and kiss you to death. Other than that, Chowder is just a big, silly clown. Chowder loves to give big hugs and has a ball playing in the water and mud. He would probably be the happiest dog in the whole world to hang out by the river with his new family and would be a great running partner. This guy is at our shelter so come by tomorrow and see if your family and Chowder click.

 Do you need someone to talk to? Do you need a friend to curl up with on the couch? If so, please come to our shelter and visit C.J. He is a gorgeous, big kitty. C.J. is a neutered male about 2 years old and has an amazing personality. C.J. is a smokey, grey color with creamy, white tabby markings and stunning green eyes. C.J. just adores people and doesn't seem to mind other cats. He is purrfection in every way, and he has a great meow to greet you with when you come home.
