Last HSOY Rabies Clinic before March 31st deadline at Foothills

The last HSOY Rabies Clinic before the March 31st deadline will be at the Foothill's Pioneer Shopping Center from 10am to 1pm tomorrow, Saturday, March 19. All dogs three months or older residing in Yuma County must be licensed by March 31st.

The license verifies that your dog is current with his/her rabies vaccination. If your dog is vaccinated, you may license online with a scanned or faxed copy of your dog's valid rabies certificate. A valid certificate must be signed by a U.S. licensed veterinarian, state whether your dog is altered or not, and be current through at least April 1st.  If a rabies vaccine expires during the year, your dog must be revaccinated in order to keep the license valid.

A license is invalid during any lapse between the expiration of a vaccination and revaccination.  If your dog needs to be vaccinated, the Humane Society of Yuma holds a number of rabies clinics at locations around the county for your convenience.

Critter Country comes to town
Critter Country comes to town
Dust off your boots and get ready for the "Critter Country Comes To Town" at the fancy Yuma Palms RV Resort on Saturday, March 26, 5:30 to 10 p.m.  We promise to have quite the party at our beautiful indoor/outdoor venue with two barbecue buffet stations and two saloons serving all your favorite beverages!

The auction items are pouring in thanks to the generosity of our item donors and hard working volunteers who are rallying the local community and business owners to support our efforts. (If anyone would like to donate an item please give Claire Eckard a call and we can arrange to pick it up and we still need a few more volunteers, especially for the evening of the event). The rodeo folks are making our decorations extra special this year and we have several treats in store for everyone, including gourmet chocolates and cupcakes (is your mouth watering yet?).

VIP (Very Important Pet caretakers) tables are available for groups and businesses at $600 for a table with seating for eight.  As always, our VIP tables offer some tempting extras for those folks who donate a little extra to the cause.  This promises to be an exceptional event, so get on down to the Yuma Palms RV Resort and help Yuma's Critters in need!  Tickets for the event are $35 and are available online, at the Humane Society of Yuma, 285 N.  Figueroa or the Humane Society Thrift Shop  at 2375 S. 4th Avenue ( behind Audio Einsteins). astle Dome Middle School's  "Paws for a Cause" drive started on the 1st and ended the 15th of December. Billie Ciotti had come to Student Council  with the idea to set up a committee of six student council members.

Angela Jumbeck was chair, Lieren Hefner was co chair and Kylee Simpson, Bethany Price, Alex fuller, Alyssa Estrada were part of the committee.  Mrs. Nicole Wilhelmy is the Advisor. Dr. Richardson would anounce each morning that the homeroom who brought in the most pet supplies would win a pizza party paid for by student council.  Mr Ham's homeroom (8th grade) won the party after the students collected and counted the supplies on Wednesday.
