Last week, we reported gleefully that First Street access had finally been restored to our shelter.  This week, we must regretfully inform you that Avenue C access has now been closed off. 

We will be at Petsmart on December 4-5, 11-12, and the 18-19 from 11am to 4pm. Each Pet Parent will receive a 4" X 6" digital photograph in a holiday collector frame for $9.95 when they use their pet perks savings card. PetSmart will donate $5.00 to HSOY for every picture sold.

We received a check for more than $1,300 last week from Goodsearch. That's the amount of money we earned over the past twelve months from people searching and shopping online with the Goodsearch/Goodshop toolbar installed on their browser.

If you love Yuma's pets in need and you are doing any shopping at all online this holiday season, you absolutely must do one of the following:

1.  Go to Goodsearch.com and download the toolbar. Once you have downloaded the toolbar and chosen HSOY as your charity, start shopping. At over 1,500 stores, the amount of your purchase that will be donated to HSOY will automatically become highlighted on the toolbar. 

2.  If you do not want to download the toolbar, go to Goodshop.com, choose us as your charity, and then link from there to the store of your choice  

The Humane Society of Yuma is now extending the reduction of all adoption fees by 50% to the month of December.  The "Finding  Everyone a Home for the Holidays" promotion has been launched to decrease the number of adoptable pets that we are being forced to euthanize in order to make room for new arrivals.

All HSOY adoptions are 50% off during the month of November and December at the shelter.  The reduced adoption rates will be as follows: Puppies (four months of age and younger) $45, adult dogs $37, kittens (four months and younger) $27, cats $22.

Price includes the pet's spay or neuter, vaccinations for distemper, parvo, bordatella,  and rabies.  It also includes microchipping for dogs. The cats at Petsmart have been tested for feline leukemia and FIV.

Oreo is a two year old male kitty-cat. He's so sweet we have given him the name of Oreo! His personality is amazing he is a cuddle bug, a sweet talker - and has the cutest MEOW! Oreo is looking forward to finding a home for the Holiday's he is the purr-fect house cat and would bring a family lots of laughs and smiles!

This is Cloey Bear. Just look at that face. Every day, many dogs with faces as cute as Cloey come through the doors of our shelter and it always makes us say many, many times, "I cant believe nobody came for you"? Cloey Bear was picked up wandering around town, no collar, no tags, and no family looking for her. She is just a baby about six months old She's looks terrier - blend and is just a sweetie pie. She loves to curl up in her bed and she won't be too big to cuddle in your bed with you, or travel the world! She would bring lots of smiles and happiness to a family that would love her and she'd definitely make a great best friend too!
