COOL HOLIDAY VOLUNTEERING OPPORTUNITIES!!!

Well it's that time of year of again, and you can bet that there are always a 101 ways to volunteer your time during the holiday season.  The HSOY is happy to announce that we have two pretty awesome volunteer opportunties coming up, and we would love for you to help us out with them!  

 

Opportunity #1 - Christmas Village

The City of Yuma's Visitor Bureau is transforming the Quartermaster Depot into a winter wonderland when it debuts the Christmas Village at the historic park following the Dorothy Young Memorial Electric Light Parade Dec. 10. The village will be open daily from noon to

8 p.m. through Dec. 30 except for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. 

Thanks to Eckard Commercial Construction and Evans Custom Concrete, the Humane Society of Yuma will be running the Gingerbread House. (pictured above)

 

We will be selling merchandise and goodies in our not-so-little gingerbread house and we need some helping manning the station :)

 

We will need 1 to 2 volunteers per shift.  Please see the below days and time slots that we need filled:

 

December 10th - 12 pm - 4 pm / 4 pm - 8pm

December 11th - 12 pm - 4 pm / 4 pm - 8pm

December 12th - 12 pm - 4 pm / 4 pm - 8pm

December 13th - 12 pm - 4 pm / 4 pm - 8pm

December 14th - Filled / 4 pm - 8pm

December 15th - Filled / 4 pm - 8pm

December 16th - Filled / 4 pm - 8pm

December 17th - Filled / 4 pm - 8pm

December 18th - Filled / 4 pm - 8pm

December 19th - 12 pm - 4 pm / 4 pm - 8pm

December 20th - 12 pm - 4 pm / 4 pm - 8pm

December 21st - 12 pm - 4 pm / 4 pm - 8pm

December 22nd - 12 pm - 4 pm / 4 pm - 8pm

December 23rd - 12 pm - 4 pm / 4 pm - 8pm

December 24th - Closed

December 25th - Closed

December 26th - 12 pm - 4 pm / 4 pm - 8pm

December 27th - 12 pm - 4 pm / 4 pm - 8pm

Pre-Volunteer Requirements:

Attend a orientation on December 3rd (location & time to be announced)

 

Time Requirements:

Each volunteer must be able to cover a four-hour shift.

Opportunity #2 - YKC Dog Show

 

The Annual Yuma Kennel Club Dog show is quickly approaching and we need volunteers fast!  This is a great opportunity for all you dog lovers!  If you love appreciating all the different dog breeds out there and their sometimes even more entertaining "pet parents" then this is the opportunity for you :)

 

We are going to be needing volunteers for December 3rd, 4th, 5th & 6th to sell merchandise and to handout HSOY information on our programs and services that we provide.  The booth will be open from 8 am to 2 pm and is located at the Yuma Fair Grounds.
