Thanksgiving with no kitty litter?
Dear Friend,
You are probably getting ready to eat a big Thanksgiving dinner. A dinner that will most likely include kitty litter.
Can you imagine a Thanksgiving without kitty litter?
As harsh as that may sound, the cats and kittens in our care face a holiday with the meagerest of kitty litter apportionment. That is, without your help.
Give our cats something they can really dig into this Thanksgiving. Can we count on you to drop off a bag (or twelve) of (non-clumping) kitty litter today?
Sincerely yours,
Cats

First Street open all the way to HSOY!
Good news, First Street access has finally been restored to our shelter. We are holding a First Street reopening party. To join this party, bring a bag (or twelve) of kitty litter to the shelter by way of First Street.

Wildflower is such a pretty girl. She's a border collie blend with a little more than two years under her and is already spayed and current with her shots. Wildflower needs a patient, dedicated family to give her plenty of exercise, training, love, and socialization. Wildflowers previous owner's left her outside 100% and also chained 100%. She is super sweet with people. Dogs and cats, not so much. She'd be best as an only pet. Why not give this wildflower a give her a home and show her how a pet should be loved and treated.

$1,300 check from Goodsearch
We received a check for more than $1,300 last week from Goodsearch. That's the amount of money we earned over the past twelve months from people searching and shopping online with the Goodsearch/Goodshop toolbar installed on their browser.
If you love Yuma's pets in need and you are doing any shopping at all online this holiday season, you absolutely must do one of the following:
1. Go to Goodsearch.com and download the toolbar. Once you have downloaded the toolbar and chosen HSOY as your charity, start shopping. At over 1,500 stores, the amount of your purchase that will be donated to HSOY will automatically become highlighted on the toolbar.
2. If you do not want to download the toolbar, go to Goodshop.com, choose us as your charity, and then link from there to the store of your choice
How much are you going to spend on Christmas gifts this year?
Statistics show that the average American spends well over $600 and more and more of that money is being spent online.
If we get 1,000 people to install the toolbar and make $200 worth of purchases at participating stores with an average kickback of 2%, that would be $4,000 just like that.

50% off all adoptions in November and December!
The Humane Society of Yuma is now extending the reduction of all adoption fees by 50% to the month of December. The "Finding Everyone a Home for the Holidays" promotion has been launched to decrease the number of adoptable pets that we are being forced to euthanize in order to make room for new arrivals.
All HSOY adoptions are 50% off during the month of November and December at the shelter. The reduced adoption rates will be as follows: Puppies (four months of age and younger) $45, adult dogs $37, kittens (four months and younger) $27, cats $22.
Price includes the pet's spay or neuter, vaccinations for distemper, parvo, bordatella, and rabies. It also includes microchipping for dogs. The cats at Petsmart have been tested for feline leukemia and FIV.
