Furthermore, access to Avenue C from 5th Street has been blocked. We will pass along further information as soon as it becomes available. Thank you.

In preparation of Fur Ball IV, we are compiling a slide presentation of HSOY successes.  Please send to esnook@hsoyuma.com.  (If you've sent one to us recently or posted it on Facebook, you won't need to resend unless you want to send us a better one!)  Please include a short description and month and year of adoption.
Forever homes found at Fall Adoption Fair

Adoption in Progress

We're happy to report that last weekend's PetSmart adoption fair was a resounding success.

All of the shelter's adoptable dogs squeezed into the Rescue Express (in several loads) and made their way to PetSmart for Saturday's special event.  Many also returned on Sunday as well.

At the adoption fair, a total of 34 lucky dogs (and four lucky cats from inside PetSmart) got adopted!

But don't despair if you missed the fair, we still have quite a few, looking just for you!  Come and see us at the shelter!

It's just another Tuxedo Tuesday

Tuxedo Tuesdays

"We're all dressed up with no place to go (except home with you)."

On every Tuesday until the as-of-yet unannounced end of the promotion, all black & white and black cats will be available for adoption at half cost.  As the promotion's tagline says, "Why rent a tux for Fur Ball IV when you can adopt one for forever."

Zoe

 Zoey

Zoe is such an amazingly snazzy girl who had to come back to the shelter after being at the adoption fair.  She was turned over to us because her family was moving but hopefully Zoe will also be moving, too.  Moving  in with you, of course.
Max starts a new family

 Max starts a family

Dear HSOY,

We adopted Max on July, 7, 2010.  Although he's been quite a handful (what puppy isn't), he has been an amazing addition to our home and soon to be marriage, which is up coming in March.

We are including a few pictures of Max from the first few weeks up to now.  He's grown soooo much. He was just under 7 lbs when we adopted him in June and according to the last vet visit less than 2 weeks ago he was about 24 lbs.

Mike and I would just like thank you for helping start our family... We hope to maybe come look for sister Max, but after we've gotten him settled in a bit more. But for being a full time, inside dog, he is doing very well!! Especially since Mike & I both work shift work, odd hours, etc.  :)

Mike and I would like to thank you and the humane society for the love you provide to animals, the hard work that you do for helping a couple like us start "family".

We thank you and the humane society from the bottom of our hearts!!!

Fur Ball IV Hydrant

 Erin works on her hydrant

HSOY Director of Development Erin Sitera lovingly paints a fire hydrant that will be one of several items auctioned off live at this Saturday's Fur Ball IV. The ongoing's of which will be dutifully reported in next week's issue of ePaws.

Save the date:
Walk 'n Wag 2010

Our annual Walk 'n Wag is going to be Saturday, November 13 at the City of Yuma Bark Park and it promises to be the best one yet. Registration will be at 8:30 AM with the event beginning at 9 AM.  There will be vendors, entertainment and, of course, many, many doggie friends both new and old.  So add it to your calendars. This year, a $25 donation will get you a Walk 'n Wag t-shirt and an additional $5 will get your dog a cool Walk 'n Wag bandana.
