| Meet Mortimor |
|
This distinguished looking gentleman is a 5 year old mail Chocolate Lab Mix. Mortimer came to us as a owner give up, due to the fact that his family was moving and was unable to take him along. This poor guy is missing his family greatly, and needs someone to swoop him up and make him part of their fo...rever family. Mortimer is already neutered, and vacinated and will be available for adoption at our shelter on Thursday at 11am. Mortimer is good with children, other dogs, and yes even cats. He walks beautifully on a leash and has a heart of gold. Come make this gentle giant yours forever. |
| Kitten season begins at HSOY |
|
Kitten season is the ugliest season for us at the shelter and it's here. If you see a litter of kittens tucked away somewhere without a mother, do not assume they are homeless orphans, their mother is probably off hunting somewhere. Do not pick up any of the kittens and routinely go back to check on them. The kittens pictured here were just taken in this morning and are too young to survive on their own. Please, please support low-cost spay/neuter in Yuma and remember, there is no such thing as a free kitten |

| Adoption success story: Spook |
Editor's note: There's no such thing as too many adoption success stories. Fortunately for us, Linda, our Adoption Supervisor, receives quite a few.
Hi Linda, We received a note from the HSOY regarding our most recent adoption, "Spook", a male Siamese. We would like for you to know that he is absolutely delightful. He has bonded with our other cat, that we also adopted from you, and they have become nearly inseperable. Spook is a sweet and loving little guy. He is very happy, and playful, and is healthy and doing just fine. We have adopted many animals from you over the years, and also a couple of Greyhounds from the Tucson Adoption Association. We have loved them all, and they have all given us so much love in return. We have never been sorry that we opened our home and our hearts to these wonderful creatures. They have filled our lives with love and enjoyment. We will continue to donate our time, and money, and adopt any that we possibly can for as long as we are able. Thank you, and all of the people at the HSOY for all that you do for these animals that ask so little of us. All that they want is for someone to love them, and they so generously give all that they can in return. Thank you, Dave & Shirley Voris |
