£237 Million - the Value of Derby's Voluntary Sector

To provide a local perspective on the likely impact of any cuts Community Action have produced a report detailing, in facts and figures, the value of voluntary and community groups in Derby. It is hoped that this will give local decision-makers a clearer understanding of the sector.

Compact Consultation
A new draft version of the national Compact, which governs relationships between the public and voluntary sectors, has been published by Compact Voice ahead of October's comprehensive spending review.
Containing measures that will hopefully prevent government departments treating charities unfairly when spending cuts take effect, the draft version will be the subject of a six week consultation until 29 October, and is then expected to be ratified in November.
Some key aspects have been agreed as vital to ensuring that the Compact remains a central document between the two sectors, reflecting priorities identified by Compact Voice, the voluntary and community sector and central and local government.
