Volunteer Centres Derbyshire Celebrate!
Volunteer Centres Derbyshire are celebrating this week as they have been awarded the Volunteer Centres Quality Accreditation from Volunteering England. This couldn't have come at a more appropriate time as the first week in June is National Volunteers Week. The Volunteer Centres will be celebrating volunteering with various activities across the county. The Volunteer Centres include: Amber Valley, Bolsover, Buxton, Chesterfield and North East, Derby, Derbyshire Dales, Erewash, Glossop and South Derbyshire. Volunteer Centres Derbyshire are especially proud as they were the pilot nationally for the award scheme. It has enabled a standardisation of the professional service that Volunteer Centre's already provide in their districts, which meet the needs of groups who work county and cross district wide. This has additionally resulted in a new Volunteer Centre covering the Bolsover area. Pete Newby, Volunteer Centres Derbyshire Network Coordinator said "It was a year's hard work, which has highlighted that Volunteer Centres Derbyshire are leading on good practice in volunteer management. This has resulted in other volunteer centre networks asking Derbyshire for support and advice". For more information on Volunteer Centres Derbyshire visit the Volunteer Centres Derbyshire website.

Charity Wheelchair Basketball Event
Each year Nimbus is the proud sponsor of the Josh Ginns Memorial Weekend - two days of wheelchair basketball to raise money for the Josh Ginns Memorial Trust.
Josh sadly passed away at the age of 10 after years of treatment for a rare form of cancer and the trust raise money to support children and their families, in a similar situation.
This year's event is going to be the biggest liveliest event yet. This year the trust would love to see teams from voluntary and community groups so why not get together and represent your organisation to raise money for this fantastic cause and also to raise awareness of disability equality.
