Sustainable Community Strategy
Derby City Partnership is currently reviewing its Sustainable Community Strategy. They are taking this opportunity to review their long-term vision and a city-wide consultation will take place over the next couple of months. The aim of the consultation is to find out what the public and partners aspirations are for Derby over the next 15 to 20 years. There will be lots of opportunities to have your say in shaping the vision, so look out for events and get involved!
City for Stronger and Safer Communities
Derby Community Safety Partnership has invested a further £7,500 into the city centre's successful Taxi Marshalling scheme, part of a range of initiatives designed to reduce violent disorder and anti-social behaviour.
Derbyshire Probation Service Trust was launched on Tuesday 23 March.
The Director of the Community Safety Partnership, Sharon Squires, has left to join Sheffield Local Strategic Partnership as Director.
City Growth
The European Regional Development Fund call for funding applications went out and is now closed. The applications will be scored and prioritised by the sub groups.
A newly constituted private sector led 'Derby Renaissance Board' plans to replace City Growth Executive whilst incorporating the strategic functions of City Growth Executive, Derby City Board and Marketing Derby Board.
A Regeneration Fund has been approved by Cabinet.
Healthy City
A new version of the Joint Strategic Needs Assessment has been launched. To read the document in full visit the

An action plan has been created to address the underperformance on the Local Area Agreement National Indicator NI39; Alcohol related hospital admissions.
City for Children and Young People
The final 2009 NEET (not in Education, Employment or Training) figure for 16 to 18 year olds shows that 600 more young people are now in education, employment or training. It is a fantastic partnership achievement particularly in light of the current economic climate and unemployment rates.
A successful stakeholder event was held on 5 March to kick off the creation of the 2010-11 action plan to deliver the 2008-11 Children and Young People's Plan. Outcome Groups set out their Initial priorities and the detail of each will be developed for sign off at the May Executive. A supporting document has been produced to give the data context against the 5 Every Child Matters themes.
Think Family update: Derby is progressing well with the development of this Government initiative, including two pilot projects planned for April to September within the Targeted Mental Health in Schools project and the Gangs multi-agency team. There was also a good uptake of the Parenting Early Intervention Programme, a national parenting course. An initiative called Respect Parenting Practitioners was also established to offer 1 to 1 support and group sessions to parents referred through the Youth Offending Service.
