Hello!

Welcome to this week's issue of Reach Out, packed with lots of information that we hope you find useful.  This week we have news of the neighbourhood board nominations for 2010/11, grants from Lloyds TSB and Santander and the launch of the Empowering Women Awards. Oh, and don't forget you only have one week left to take part in the annual Community Action survey and be in with a chance to win £50 of Westfield vouchers. Thank you to those of you who have already taken part in the survey.

If you have any news, information or events that you would like to share with the voluntary and community sector in Derby, please let us know.
VoteNeighbourhood Board Nominations
Neighbourhood Boards play a key role in building stronger communities and keeping them strong. They are made up of councillors and people living or working in the neighbourhood and include representatives from community groups, local businesses and public services. The role of residents on the Neighbourhood Boards is to represent the whole of their neighbourhood, not just a single interest group, with commitment and passion.

The membership of each neighbourhood board is being reviewed in April and May 2010. We are seeking new nominations for every Neighbourhood Board. The deadline for nominations to be returned is 12 noon on Monday 19 April. After this date, the Neighbourhood Managers will meet with the Ward Councillors on each Neighbourhood Board to review the nominations. The final decision on the membership of the Neighbourhood Board is made at this meeting.
You can download and complete a nomination form from the CommunityAction website or alternatively email Natalie O'Hanlon or call 01332 258527, minicom 01332 256900.

Community Action Derby logoCommunity Action Annual Survey
A reminder that the deadline for completing the Community Action annual survey is 1 April - next week!

Please take the time to give us your views, feedback from the survey will tell us how we can improve the services we offer to the voluntary and community sector and help us plan for next year.

There are two versions of the survey; one for statutory partners and one for voluntary and community groups. To get as wide a response as possible please feel free to forward the survey link to individuals or groups in your networks.

The responses from the survey will form the basis of a series of Focus Groups giving you further opportunity to contribute to the development of Community Action Derby and our continuing representation of voluntary and community organisations within the city.

To say thank you for taking the time to complete the survey we will automatically enter you into a prize draw with the chance to win £50 of Westfield Vouchers - don't miss out!

The framework agreement will have around 5 to 15 suitably qualified service providers to provide individual support to disabled children and young people so that they are able to enjoy activities and spend time away from their parents/carers. This also gives the carers a break from caring.
