Derby City Council logoReminder - Review of DCC Grants

The deadline for completing the consultation survey is this Sunday - Sunday 31 January 2010.

The survey can be completed online by clicking here. If you have any questions about the survey, or if you need this information in another format, please email Olwen Wilson or call 01332 717379.

MovieStar Volunteers Wanted for Olympic Film!
Do you know any volunteers who would like to appear in a film? Are you one of those volunteers yourself? Would you like to promote the social legacy campaign of the Olympic games? Then read on!

The Government Olympic Executive are launching a campaign aimed at getting everyone involved in the Olympics through volunteering. Called the 25th Hour, the campaign will play a pivotal role in inspiring and encouraging people around the country to give up some of their time and volunteer.

The 25th Hour is a metaphor for the time we can invest in others.  It creates opportunities to meet people, embrace new experiences and develop skills. It makes us feel better about ourselves, how we live and where we live.

A three minute film will be the focal point of the campaign and this is where your help is needed. It will be used for the duration of the campaign - which means beyond the Olympic Games in summer 2012. This will create an opportunity for you or your volunteers to highlight the good work you already do and be part of a hugely high-profile campaign from its inception. Filming starts the week commencing 8 February so you need to act now if you are interested!

For more information and to get involved in this exciting project email Natasha Jacobs.

DatesYour Sector, Your Say
A date for your diary and a survey!

The date for your diary is 24 March 2010. On this date we will be holding the first forum for all voluntary and community groups in Derby called Your Sector, Your Say.

To find out the needs and priorities of voluntary and community groups in the city we would like you to take part in a short survey. The outcome of the survey will inform the Your Sector Your Say forum - so this really is a chance for you to get your issues in the spotlight.

You can fill out the survey online or visit the Community Action  website, download a copy and email it back or print it off and post it back to us.

The Your Sector, Your Say forum will be held on 24 March 2010 at the new YMCA building on London Road, Derby. The outcomes from the forum will then be refined into an Action Plan for the voluntary and community sector in Derby. To book your place at 'Your Sector, Your Say' please email Abigail Steanson or call 01332 346266.

Please take five minutes to complete this questionnaire - it will help to determine the priorities for the future of voluntary and community organisations in the city.
