Charity Builder UK
CBUK is an innovative new way of helping voluntary and community groups address any Human Resources and Health and Safety issues they may have FREE of charge.
The new service is provided by Tennyson Insurance who specialise in insuring organisations that support society. They recognise that small and medium sized community groups, charities and social enterprises often find it difficult to comply with Human Resources and Health & Safety legislation - key areas in the successful and safe running of a non-profit organisation, and two areas which can be complex and time consuming.
CBUK will help your organisation be compliant, efficient, and will also help you to save money.
CBUK is a free service and there are no hidden costs. In order to benefit from the wide range of interactive tools you must first register with CBUK. You will then be supplied with a unique user ID, which allows unlimited access to these services.
For more information and for details of how to register please visit the Charitybuilder UK website or email CBUK. | |

ICT Health Checks
Does your organisation need a health check to assess its Information and Communication Technology (ICT)?
Funded by BIG Lottery as part of an exciting new initiative, the comprehensive health checks will help your organisation to review its use of ICT and answer all related questions.
The health check is an assessment of how ICT is helping you achieve your organisation's goals and aims to identify ways that ICT developments could be used to work more efficiently.
Organisations taking part in the reviews will also receive on-going help and support throughout the project to help implement any changes and take account of the external demands, challenges and changes facing the voluntary sector.

Tree O'Clock Update
On Saturday 5 December 159 people went along to Allestree Park to try and break the record for planting trees.
The event was a great success with 1010 trees planted in 24 minutes, followed by a session putting on rabbit guards. There were an additional 10 trees brought along by members of the public, which were also planted as part of the event. The species mix included oak, crab apple, hawthorn, holly, hazel and rowan. The Community Action team worked very hard demonstrating to volunteers how to plant the trees and organising their section of the park. It was a lovely sunny day and everyone went away feeling that they had achieved something important and had had an enjoyable morning.
A huge thank you to all the volunteers who worked hard to plant all 1010 trees. |
