Community Engagement Launch Invitation

scalesHer Majesty's Courts Service Community Engagement Project in Derby would like to invite leaders of community groups to the launch of this project. The initiative is designed to improve the links between the magistrates' courts and the local community by increasing awareness of the work of the magistrates' courts and giving members of the community an opportunity to inform those working in the courts about local concerns. It is hoped that it will also promote volunteering within the criminal justice system.

The event will be held at Derby Magistrates' Court, The Court House, St Mary's Gate, Derby, DE1 3JR on Wednesday 17 June 2009, 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

Future engagement activity will take many forms: meet the judge events, magistrates visiting schools, community groups and attending neighbourhood policing meetings.

Numbers are limited so book your place NOW by calling Sarah Mettam on 01246 246502.
