Funding for Sports
 
              Sport England's small grants scheme funds community projects that encourage people to become involved in sport and ensure that they have a quality sporting experience. The scheme also helps people to improve their performance in their chosen sport. The scheme is for not-for-profit sports clubs, voluntary and community organisations, local authorities and education institutions.
Grants of between £300 and £10,000 are available for revenue and small capital projects.
Application is via a single-stage online form. They offer advice and support to applicants and the whole process, from receipt of application to decision, will take no longer than six weeks. Visit the website or call Tel: 08458 508 508 for more details.

Addaction are running a half-day course aimed at increasing  knowledge and skills in relation to working with substance users. The course is suitable for teachers, social services, police officers, drug workers, youth workers and anyone who wishes to understand more about how to work with substance users.

Target fundNew Funding Available!   
The Targeted Support Fund has been designed to relieve the pressure on charities during the current recession. It is aimed at medium sized charities delivering services linked to recession fall out e.g. housing and debt advice, relationship breakdowns, employment and training.
Derbyshire Community Foundation will be holding a one hour workshop covering all you need to know about the Targeted Support Fund at Derby CVS on Monday 18 May 2009.

The Tool Factory, a social enterprise and co-operative that provides software solutions for social entrepreneurs, has launched a FREE e-book designed to help Third Sector organisations measure their social impact.  The book, 'An Introduction to Social Impact Measurement: A Practical Approach', hopes to help organisations take the first steps towards measuring their performance. The e-book will enable organisations to inspire, staff, volunteers and attract funding and investment.

What Do Volunteers Do? The World's Shortest Survey!
Clinks - established to strengthen and develop partnerships between voluntary and community-based organisations and the Prison and Probation Service - want to find out what roles volunteers are undertaking in their sector. This information will feed into Clinks publications to list the range of activities that volunteers undertake and highlight their invaluable work. FREE Computer Training
Derby Association of Community Partners will soon be rolling out FREE computer training to supported housing schemes in partnership with COMPU-Training. Looking for Arts Funding?
Arts Council England are offering small grants for the arts. The scheme is for individuals, arts organisations and other people who use the arts in their work. Grants are for activities over a set period which engage people in England in the arts, and help artists and arts organisations in England carry out their work.
Grants to individuals range from £1,000 up to £30,000, and will pay for activities lasting up to three years. Grants to organisations range from £1,000 up to £100,000, and will pay for activities lasting up to three years.
