Real help for Communities: Strengthening the sector now and in the future.
Cabinet Office 3rd Sector logoThis is the second part of this Government policy update on the Real Help for Communities paper.
Summary:
The Government will target £8.5 million of the action plan's £42.5 million of measures at new and expanding social enterprises and £23.5 million at small and medium third sector service providers.  This will involve the following key actions:
- A £16.5 million modernisation fund to support viable third sector organisations to access specialist services in order to restructure and become more resilient and efficient in the recession.
- A £0.5 million investment in the School for Social Entrepreneurs to expand its 'action-learning' programme to support social entrepreneurs.
- An independent review of the incentives for investment in social enterprise.
- Information specifically for third sector organisations about the impact of the recession on pension schemes

Southern Derbyshire Voluntary Sector Mental Health Forum
Mental Health Awareness Training

We want to set up a working party to look at the provision of Mental Health Awareness Training.  The purpose of the working party will be to investigate the following:

- Who needs training?
For example: non-mental health workers who work in health environments; in support environments, or in the wider world.
 - What sort of information, ideas and practice should be provided?
- Course composition:
- Quality
- Cost/income
- Delivery

Are you interested in attending a meeting with other voluntary sector providers to discuss how we might progress these ideas?  If so please contact Ruth Stretton by Thursday April 24 with a view to meeting 19, 20 or 21st May.  If you are unable to make the above dates but would be interested in participating please contact Ruth.
