Launchpad
Fund
The 'learning launchpad' fund will offer a range of investment packages designed to meet the needs of any organisation or individual with an idea to provide alternatives to traditional education to young people aged 14 to 25 years old.
The fund will offer both support and finance for organisations at two stages of development. Stage one investments will provide up to £30,000 plus support, to people starting out with a new idea. Stage two investments will offer up to £100,000 plus support, for organisations or initiatives that are already up and running and want to grow.
The support and incubation packages - offered as part of any investment - include business planning, marketing support, book keeping or simply access to contacts.
Delivered by the Young Foundation, in partnership with independent education foundation Edge, the Learning Launchpad fund is open to applications from either individuals with great ideas, emerging charities, social enterprises or mainstream business committed to delivering social change for young people. Learning and Enterprise Skills
 The Novas Scarman Group has developed a range of tools designed to de-mystify the topic of enterprise, social enterprise and business start-up.
The hands-on and interactive tools aim to promote creativity and explore and develop a range of entrepreneurial skills; they assist in decision making, team building, marketing, finance, business planning and legal structures.
The purpose of the tool is to build the confidence of individuals to allow them to make the most of their abilities and turn ideas into action.

Participation for Young People
 Are you looking to increase children and young people's participation in your organisation? The Participation Works consortium has a range of training courses and a consultancy package, ranging from introducing a selection of training methods and tools, through to organisational change and strategic planning to support you. Our courses are designed to meet the needs of a wide range of staff including managers and trustees as well as young people themselves, and will include accredited training. The training programme is being delivered England wide by a team of Participation Works approved trainers, including young people who are aged 16-19 years. Courses are free to Voluntary, Community and other Third Sector organisations (1 person per organisation) and £85 for Statutory organisations.

Attracting and Recruiting Volunteers Course
 17 March 10.00 am to 1.00 pm.
The session will:
- look at the importance of and identify the key elements of an effective volunteer policy;
- identify the key elements of a volunteer task/role description; - help participants select and begin to develop the most appropriate publicity materials and strategy for their organisation and volunteer role; and - help participants to be able to recognise best practice in terms of recruiting volunteers.
