Inspiring Derby 2009

Derby City Partnership logo

Showcasing what's best about our city
Monday 22 June - Sunday 28 June 2009.

Derby City Partnership brings you Inspiring Derby 2009; a week of events for everyone, to showcase what's best about our city.
We want you to help us to demonstrate how Derby is inspiring and how your partnership work can inspire everyone who lives and works here.
This is a great opportunity to showcase your activities, partnership projects and initiatives to the public and organisations locally and regionally by putting on events and tours between Monday 22 and Sunday 28 June.
Derby City Partnership Week is well established and well respected in the city and last year all our tours sold out, as did most of our events.
Yet, with your help we can do better and you can be part of making Inspiring Derby 2009 the best attended and the most inspirational week yet!
booking form and guidelines for taking part.
Deadline for returning booking forms is Monday 16 March.
For more information call Jas Clarke on 01332 258509.

Age Concern logoEmail Enquiry Service
Introducing Age Concern's new email enquiry service!  Click here for the email address.

Age Concern is also interested in hearing from individuals aged 50+ and from all walks of life who feel they have been forced unnecessarily out of the workforce or are finding it difficult to return to work due to their age.  We are looking for individuals willing to share their experiences, initially in a group setting. This would be to consider setting up a self help group and also working together to explore how they can help others finding themselves placed in the same situation. The group would examine ways they can assist other older people, as a working group, to challenge age discrimination in the workplace and examine creative and alternative ways of promoting the benefits of employing older people within the workforce.

Click here to get in touch, or visit Age Concern on the Morledge.
Derby City Council logoWarm and well
This project offers older people in Derby advice and information on how to keep warm and well this winter.  Derby City Council and NHS Derby City are working with local organisations, groups and residents to make sure that vulnerable older people in Derby get home energy advice and information so that they can afford to heat their homes.  Click here for an informative leaflet.
