Learning - Keeping Mentally Active |
|
26 February 2009 The Older People's Cluster is again inviting older people from groups and organisations across Derby City to attend a focus group at the Queen's Leisure Centre, Derby on 26 February at 10.30 am until 12.30 pm This event is being lead by the Adult Education Services and will discuss Learning - Keeping Mentally Active. We know that stimulating the brain by learning a new skill, being involved in a learning activity and socialising in a learning environment helps to maintain mental ability. So what are the barriers to accessing learning? What kind of opportunities are there and are they what people want? And what can groups and organisations do to encourage and support members to keep mentally active? If you want to take part in this discussion, bring your ideas to the event, get involved in influencing future decisions about learning for older people, contact Kath Cawdell on 01332 227733 or send an email. |
