Derby Compact Award
The Derby Compact, an agreement between public and voluntary sector bodies, has won the national 'Local Compact of the Year Award', recognising the excellent partnership working taking place across the city.

Derby CVS and the Council staff involved in the Compact collected their awards from Derby's Mayor, Councillor Barbara Jackson on Wednesday 19 November.

The Compact Forum is the strategic group responsible for driving forward the Derby Compact.  It draws its membership from across Derby City Partnership, from both statutory and voluntary sector organisations and networks.
The prestigious award recognised the excellent work undertaken by voluntary and statutory sector partners on strengthening the Derby Compact's links to Derby City Partnership and revitalizing the local Compact Agreement to include a new process for conflict resolution.

The Compact Annual Review meeting will now take place on Friday 28 November from 10.00 am to 12.00 noon, with lunch at Derby CVS.

nef logoFive a day to wellbeing!

nef's (New Economics Foundation) centre for well-being has developed a set of five evidence-based actions that, if practised regularly, can improve personal well-being.

In the midst of the credit crunch, growing economic uncertainty and accelerating climate change, the recommended actions, based on extensive research compiled by nef for the Government's Foresight project on Mental Capital and Well-being, show that well-being does not depend on spending money or consuming more.
Click here to find out what they are and how they can help you recruit volunteers.
