Derby City Council logo
Derby City Council's Parks Department is currently bidding for funding to develop a new supervised adventure play area in the city aimed at children aged 8 to 13.  An important part of the bidding process is to get feedback and views on where this new adventure play area should be and why.

Please help and complete this short online survey which should only take you about 5 minutes.
Please forward the link to anyone who you think will complete the questionnaire.
Click here to fill in the survey.

The closing date for filling in the online survey is Sunday 9 November 2008 and we'll tell you about the survey results and whether our bid was successful in a future email update.

Please remember you need to complete this as a resident and NOT as a DCC employee, an organisation, a community group or third sector.

Be a Spaceshaper!
Spaceshaper is a practical toolkit for use by anyone - whether a local community group or a professional - to measure the quality of a public space before investing time and money in improving it.

Taster sessions explain how Spaceshaper works, including the opportunity for participants to use the toolkit for themselves in a local public space. If you are interested in becoming a Spaceshaper facilitator you will need to attend a taster session first.
We are holding free taster sessions in Derby on Tuesday 18 November 2008
Places are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.  Find out more and sign up by clicking here.
How safe is your identity?
To mark National Identity Fraud Prevention Week in September, the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) invited individuals to test how well they look after their personal information by completing the Personal information healthcheck quiz, which is still available on the the ICO's very helpful website.

The online quiz provides advice to individuals on how to protect personal details and reduce the risk of identity fraud.  Click here to have a go!

Message in a bottle container
Message in a Bottle
The Lions Message In a Bottle scheme is a simple idea designed to encourage people to keep their personal and medical details on a standard form and in a common location - the fridge.

This can help medical professionals visiting your house find emergency information quickly and treat you accordingly.

Whilst it is focused on the more vulnerable people in our community, anyone can have an accident at home, so this scheme can benefit anyone, including you.

Derby CVS has hundreds of these containers to give away.  For more information, please contact us!
