SUITs You?
Action Housing and Support logo
Action Housing & Support's SUIT (Service User Involvement Team) is working in Derby to represent the organisation's service users and provide a new route towards community reintegration.

Action Housing & Support works in Derby to help vulnerable and socially excluded people address such problems as offending, drug and alcohol abuse and mental health difficulties. The charity aims to help people tackle their issues and establish stable and independent lives.

SUIT has been helping to celebrate the organisation's 30th birthday by drawing attention to the problems that many people face in their lives. The group has recently produced Another Side of Life, a book which gives an insight into the difficulties that some people face, as well as how they've been able to overcome them.

SUIT is also helping to find other ways for people to get back into society and lead more productive lives. The team has set up an allotment project and organises regular events and activities. It raises funds, produces its own newsletter and takes an active role in helping to improve Action Housing & Support for its service users.

Another Side of Life is available for sale, please contact 01332 680 200 for further details or visit www.actionhousinguk.org.

Derby LINk
Health and Care Graphic
After a very successful launch on 8 October, Derby LINk has been asked to find out what the people of Derby think about three areas of health and care:

Mental Health Day Services: get involved in a complete review and re-design of these services across the city.
Maternity Services: help review a new strategy aimed at improving the quality of, and access to, care for women in the city.
Dementia services: a member of the LINk is invited to take part in the feedback session looking at improving commissioning of dementia services.

This is a genuine opportunity to shape the way these services will look.  If you have an interest in any of these services, why not become a member and have your say on their future?

To join, you need to either live or work in Derby.

To find out more or to join Derby LINk, contact us on 01332 346266, email us at: admin@derbylink.org.uk  or visit the website: www.derbylink.org.uk
